My only quibble is with the "Recently arrested for DUI." Unlike the rest
of the above, an arrest would be a matter of public record. Since there
are no arrests on record for GA, in any country, for anything other than
glueing shut the doors to her high school on graduation night -- and since
the media would fall all over each other (like DD over GA's Emmy dress)
to inform us if there were -- it's difficult to suspend one's disbelief
enough to properly enjoy speculating about this particular item.

The Lisa Loeb thing, I think, is based on an Nth-generation misreading
of the 1-97 GQ article (where Loeb met DD backstage at some concert and
*gushed* over him). The "women younger than him," on the other hand,
is demonstrably obvious. ;-) As is the "pothead" designation, since DD
readily confirmed that he & Tea smoke pot together, when asked about it
on the Howard Stern show (apparently edited out of the radio broadcast,
but quite intact when televised on E!). Also, in one magazine interview,
DD mentioned watching an episode during the filming of XF's first season
after getting stoned (a viewing experience which caused him to despair
of the show's ever succeeding. ;-)

The alleged abuser was actually Christopher Williams, an R&B singer who was
popular for a time in the early 90s, known for his beautiful voice and
messed-up personal life( he is the father of Stacey Dash's -from Clueless-
son, although she nevers mentions her child and tries to convince people she is
22 instead of 31 - but I digress...). He apparently hit her so hard that she is
80 percent deaf in one ear. In an interview, she did acknowledge the hearing
loss in one ear came from being hit but, although she did not confirm it when
the interviewer asked her if it was Williams who hit her, she didn't deny it
either.
A person I know who reviews movies for a small paper and goes on those free
publicity junkets interviewed her and noticed that when he spoke to her she
would subtly lean over and favor one side ( can't remember which ear ) so she
could hear him.He hadn't heard about the hearing loss until I mentioned it when
he returned. This was around 1994, so hopefully she's gotten a discreet hearing
aid since then....

It was indeed "Smooth Talk", Dern's first starring role. I remember reading it
in an interview in Life magazine about 10 years ago. They lived together for a
short while after completing the movie.

Hmmm. No wonder she freaked when someone called her at home for an
interview. She looks good for 31. Maybe she should go on 90210, they
like that kind of casting. :-)

She should have had him arrested. But then, she seems to like having
men punish her. Besides being high maitenance, she likes to push men
to hit her. She should really get into S&M if she likes pain that
much. Then, she could get hit all she wants and not risk pain.

I dunno. Which network show was it, and roughly when? (... asking for
real, not rhetorically. I'm genuinely curious.) Assuming you heard right,
they must have been mistaken. (It can happen -- our local NBC affiliate
[KRON in SF] recently ran a news promo over the lead-in's end credits
[I think it was LAW & ORDER, ironically] in which the voiceover described
the recently-released police drawing of a wanted kidnapper/rapist, while
on-screen they accidentally showed the smiling photo of an alleged Chinese
slumlord! After the news' opening credits they quickly said that it had
been the wrong picture, but delayed further explanation until the slumlord
story came up somewhat later in the broadcast. In fact, I'm not sure if
they ever did fully explain the mix-up, since the slumlord story ran so
much later -- at least one commercial break later -- that I'd lost
patience and started channel-surfing.)
If GA had been arrested for DUI in the recent past, wouldn't it
have been all *over* the news (news shows, entertainment TV, newspapers,
magazines, trade papers, etc.); have generated all sorts of 'net traffic
and noisy controversy in XF fandom; and be common knowledge, like Kelsey
Grammer's and Gary Oldman's DUI's? Her mugshot would be *everywhere*
(and PhotoShopped into countless "NUDE GA!!!!" masterpieces For Our
Consideration). And Joan Rivers would have had a field day with it ...

I've seen it everywhere -- but all stemming from the same dubious source.
Not that DD doesn't have *plenty* of verifiable exes to provide far
juicier gossip fodder (and all of them SO much younger than he >;-)

the romance could not stand the strain of David's growing fame
and it ended when Mandy was told he had been cheating on her.

HUNKY David Duchovny of X-FILES fame is a superstar in bed too,
reveals a sexy actress who had a passionate romance with him.
"David is an out-of-this-world lover," says 31-year-old Mandy Komlosy,
who dated David for eight months before he hit it big on THE X-FILES.
"He's a monster between the sheets." But David, who plays FBI agent Mulder
in the hit sci-fi TV series, is also an incurable romantic, she insists.
She says David made love to her surrounded by a sea of flickering
candle flames, then broke into tears listening to classical music.
"The thing that makes David a better lover than the rest is that
he's very intense ... he loved to read me his poetry afterward."
Mandy's romance with Duchovny, 35, began in 1992 after
a top Hollywood agent agreed to launch their acting careers.
Mandy, who was living with L.A. LAW star Amanda Donohoe
in Beverly Hills, recalls:
"I met David at a dinner party thrown by our agent in Los Angeles,
and there was an instant spark between us. There was something intensely
sexual about David that sent a shiver down my spine. He wooed me with
his clean shaven legs -- something he had to do for his cross-dressing
character on TWIN PEAKS. One of the first things he asked me to do was
shave his legs. Then he wanted to know if he could touch my legs to see
how they felt -- so I let him. And his were smoother than mine!
"I was overwhelmed by a very strange feeling, an overpowering
feeling of destiny. It was as though we were meant for each other.
"After a whirlwind romance we made love on our third date.
He was the best lover I had ever had. It sounds corny, but he was
like nothing on earth.
"The first time we made love, he created it so that it would be
a mystical experience. He was that good.
"Over dinner, David came across as the clean-cut, all-American guy,
just like Agent Mulder. But in bed he seemed to shed his normal self and
turn into something superhuman -- half-man, half-beast.
"We went back to his home in Santa Monica. He put on some soft
music, turned down the lights and lit candles all around the room.
"The flickering lights bobbing around in bowls of water made it
look like an altar. Very spooky, but very romantic -- almost dreamlike.
We began kissing, then he caressed my body gently. Within seconds we
were tearing each other's clothes off and making love on the floor.
"David has a gorgeous body, very fit and muscular. I gasped when
I looked below his waist -- he was so well-endowed. He satisfied me three,
four times a night. I was ecstatic and I drifted off into another world.
"He was very adventurous, but at the same time very gentle and caring
-- very intimate and exciting. We made love for four or five hours nonstop.
"Afterward we lay there in the shadow of the flickering candles
and he would read some of his poetry to me. I fell in love with him
right there and then."
Mandy says she planned to marry David -- and for the next eight
months they were inseparable lovers.
When the first X-FILES episodes catapulted him to fame almost
overnight, Duchovny still found time for nights of love with Mandy. The
kinky star insisted leggy Mandy wear short skirts, silk stockings, garter
belts and lacy underwear. After their passionate love sessions, Duchovny
recited poems and wept as they listened to symphonic and opera music.
"David mixed with some of Hollywood's sexiest women -- Madonna,
Sharon Stone, Michelle Pfeiffer ... but he only had eyes for me. He was
very impulsive and loved to have sex at all hours of the day and night,
wherever we were. Black silk underwear really turned him on. I remember at
one party in Beverly Hills, dozens of beautiful women were trying to chat
David up, but I could clearly see him looking over their heads to look at me.
"I told him beforehand that I was wearing very tantalizing lingerie.
Afterward we tore each other's clothes off and we made love for hours.
"Another time we were driving home in the middle of the day and
I could see him looking at my legs. He was getting very hot and steamy.
Suddenly he pulled over into a rest area on the side of the road and we
had sex right there and then.
"In company, David comes across as very Ivy League, very intelligent
and charming, just like his character on his show. But between the sheets,
he's an absolute animal.
"He liked sex in different positions and he enjoyed experimenting.
He was a sex addict. There was a real buzz around Hollywood that he was
a legendary lover. Women would throw themselves at him. But he had a
very sensitive, artistic side to him -- like when we would lie in bed
and he would quote lines from poems he had written.
"He would get very emotional about deep things. Beautiful music
brought tears to his eyes."
But after eight months, the romance began to die.
One problem, Mandy says, is that David was very tightfisted --
he would often make her pick up half the tab when they went out to eat.
She fumes: "David wined and dined me at some of the world's most
exclusive restaurants. I thought he was a real gentleman when he invited
me out. But I was shocked when he asked me for half the bill.
"I was horrified he would treat me this way. I am by no means
a sponger, but I am used to a bit of chivalry." The half-Scottish actor
also wanted Mandy to spend less time with her British acting friends --
and become more American. "The Brits in Hollywood stick together ...
I was very close with Amanda Donohoe, Gary Stretch, Patsy Kensit,
Catherine Oxenberg and all the British and Australian rockers."
The final straw came eight months into the relationship when Mandy
was told that Duchovny has been cheating on her. "It broke my heart
... I'd been faithful to David during our entire relationship.
I loved him dearly, and deep down he was the man I wanted to marry.
"One night I phoned and asked to come to Amanda Donohoe's house.
He said no and gave me a cold excuse. The next week a friend told me
he was seen with another woman. We just called it a day."
