Greene was very self conscious about being seen without it. As a matter
of fact, he would never let anybody see him without it on.
Evidently, there was a seen where Pa Cartwright had to jump into a body
of water, So they used a big tank at the studio. Greene jumps in the
water, and slowly his toupee floats to the surface. A few seconds go by
and the crew sees bubbles coming to the surface but no sign of Lorne
Greene. All of a sudden, like the lady in the lake, a hand shoots above
the surgace of the water, searching for the rug, finds it, submerges,
and a few seconds later Greene comes out of the water wearing the
toupee.
It is stories like this that make me glad I am going to try the shaved

David Bowie... not even Angela told in her
tell-all book...
> Well, I was surprised when I heard Lassie was wearing a piece.
Not a piece, an "appliance" -- to conceal "her" actual male status.
I guess that means Lassie was a drag queen.

Yeah, right. Like it's possible to get a Mohawk hairpiece that won't fall off
in concert (for photographic evidence of Bowie's mohawk, see the latest issue
of Rolling Stone).

If the hairpiece is built on wig lace and glued on correctly with spirit
gum, yes, there would be no problem whatsoever. Removing it might be a
little painful, but that's why Bowie makes the big bucks.
(I worked 2 years with a theatrical wig company.)

Don't know when the dumping occurred, but Jill was married
to David from 1957-67. She married Bronson in 1968.

Okay, but he had the Mohawk for a month (from the last concert of his South
American tour until the Xmas concert in LA). He then had most of it cut or
shaved off and emerged for the Xmas in San Fran the next day with a buzz cut.
The bottom line is that Bowie is seen in public too often and has too many
"kiss and tellers" in his past like the ex-wife from Hell to hide a hairpiece.
We're also not talking about someone like Elton John who sits at a piano in
concert - this guy throws himself around (or in some cases is thrown around by
others).

As someone in the business, I second that.
This is PRECISELY the kind of hairpiece (lace-based) that Jack Lord used all
those years. Even today so many Hawaii Five-O fans are in disbelief about his
longtime hairpiece usage.
Been done MANY times in MANY movies...
And you wouldn't BELIEVE the glue they've
got nowadays...
He's also incredibly cagey and very sneaky and
fooled even you!

Maybe it has, but Bowie's hair is very real, and quite obviously so. There's
no way you can actually **look** at it and not arrive at that conclusion. Real
hair.

Oh yes, you are sooo right. I'm so glad to see he got rid of that poodle on top
of his head. This one looks natural, ala Sean Connery
Yes, Burt finally got it right...
...it's always been amazing that a man who owns a piece (pardon the
pun) of the company that makes his hairpieces (and he endorses them in
advertising) always had such unflattering looking ones himself.
Now he's looking good.
He deserves his "comeback" (and his new head of hair) - he's one of
the nicest guys in the business.

Also, does anyone else think that Paul Reiser's hair looks suspiciously Hair
Club for Men-ish? I swear it looks too perfect to be real.
Just wondering
Ann McL.
It looks like that Menendez brother's hair...
No, but Reiser's hair is thinning noticeably. Plus, he has it colored way too
dark.

Any idea whose it is?
