Hey everyone,

check out http://www.abc.com/primetime/ellen/piven.html. It describes John
Cusack as being a "lifelong friend" of Jeremy Piven.

Isn't that a euphemism for gay? I notice neither one of them is married.

So are they a gay couple?

I think they've known each other since they were kids. I
believe Jeremy's father was John and Joan's acting coach, or
something like that.

You're just a tad confused. "Lifetime companion" or "partner"
are some names for monogomous same-sex lovers or non-married
opposite-sex lovers (and note that they are *not* euphemisms,
but actual labels which for most people are fairly clear). A lifelong
friend is just that (though I supposed lifelong friends *could* be
lovers as well...).

Piven's family runs a theatre outside Chicago, where toddling Cusack babies
learned the acting ropes. Aiden Quinn studied there also. And none of these
men are gay.

But they all have breast implants.

David, who notes that Quinn is on the all too small list of male celebs
who've bared all in the movies.

Um, no. HamActor is gay. If he's thanking God that Piven isn't gay, it's
because he has something against being Piven, not something against being
gay.

Personally I think Piven is adorable for a hairy straight guy, so I really
don't want to know what HamActor has against him.

As much as I like to believe everyone cute is gay, I don't think so with
these two. Both of them grew up in suburban Chicago. I read somewhere
that Piven's father was big into theatre, that's where the two met since
John & his sister Joan were big in the Chicago theatre scene. I don't know
why, but neither of them come off as coy. That doesn't mean they aren't
gay, but I just don't pick up any vibes.

Quinn didn't look "all too small" to me-- just average.

I can speak for Cusack--my cousin grew up with him in Chicago, and if he's gay,
it's the best-kept secret of his life.

Not by a long shot - stocky, balding hairy men are a turn on for me also -
don't know why - just are.

There seems to be this big discussion as to Jeremy Piven and John Cusack's
sexuality. Just because they've been friends for a long time does not make
them gay. I've been a big fan of both of them for a long time and just don't
get the impression that they're gay. And if they are, it's their business.
Besides, does it REALLY matter?
Isn't it better to just wonder sometimes?

Just a thought.

In the specific, no it doesn't matter is these two people are gay (nor does
it matter if they're straight. But would you get upset if People magazine
did a piece and talked about their heterosexual love lives? I doubt it).

In the general, it does matter that gay people "come out". The media works
overtime trying to marginalize gay people into invisibility. That should
be countered when at all possible.

All this chatter about Jeremy Piven and John Cusack reminded me of the
flick I saw on the Sundance Channel the other night, "Floundering".
The movie (shot on a shoestring) starred James LeGros with Jeremy and
John having camoe roles in the aforementioned flick. Nice butt shot
of James screwing his galfriend. Strange little flick. Anybody see
it?

You ask visitors to your Jeremy Piven site *their* sexual orientation.
Surely his sexual orientation's as interesting as theirs is.

(And BTW, in reference to what someone else said earlier in this thread
about thinking he's the only one who likes him, the answers are Male: 80%,
Female: 20%. Gay: 70% Straight: 27% Bi: 3%)

Sometimes being "lifelong friends" means just that: they're lifelong
friends!! John and Jeremy have known each other since they were kids.
Jeremy's parents are acting teachers in Chicago and ran the theater where
John and his sister Joan studied acting when they were children and
teenagers. They are not gay.

Yup, the 1984 film of that title, directed by James Foley. (The Daryl
Hannah movie with *Tom Berenger* frontal is "At Play in the Fields of
the Lord".)

And here's the text.

JEREMY PIVEN
Winner of the 1997 Furball of the Year award, I think Jeremy must be the
most loved man on TV. Bald, chunky and hairy! It seems his appearance on
Ellen deserved an Emmy. You can also see footage of his broad hairy chest in
Miami Rhapsody with Sarah Jessica Parker. A reader writes, "I first noticed
him when he was on ER. (Or was it Chicago Hope? I'm not sure. The two shows
are fairly interchangable.) Anyway, Jeremy played a patient who had some
sort of disorder that gave him a permanent hard-on. He had several minutes
on-screen, shirtless, and I was in heaven!"
In Wavelength (aka E=MC2) you see his willy right at the start of the film,
even before the credits. Don't get too excited though. The lighting is very
dim & it is seen for only a split second.
Chest: Car 54 Where Are You?, E=MC2(aka Wavelength), Ellen (TV series
[Episode: Morgan PI]), Heat, Miami Rhapsody, Wavelength (E=MC2)
Butt: The Larry Sanders Show (TV series [Episode: The Writer])
Willy: Wavelength (E=MC2)
