Reality star Kourtney Kardashian provided an update to her social media
followers after undergoing emergency fetal surgery to save her unborn baby
earlier this month.

“Pregnancy is so empowering,” the 44-year-old celeb wrote in the caption of
her Instagram post, which included several snapshots of her showing off her
baby bump.

Kardashian previously announced she was expecting a child with husband Travis
Barker, the drummer for Blink 182, at one of the band’s concerts. The reality
star also has three children with her ex, Scott Disick. Barker has two
teenagers with his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler.

Kardashian’s 17-year-old stepdaughter, Alabama, commented on the Instagram
post, writing, “Hot mama!”

Barker abruptly left his European tour early to rush to his wife’s side as
she underwent emergency surgery to save their unborn baby. Kardashian also
discussed that experience on social media.

“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s
life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour
to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock,” she
wrote in the caption of a black-and-white photo of her and Barker holding
hands. “And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.”

She continued, “As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the
past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I
don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to
understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect
for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”

“Praise be to God,” Kardashian concluded. “Walking out of the hospital with
my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing.”

Barker also shared an update on X, saying, “God is great. I flew home for a
life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went
well. I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday.”

Kardashian has expressed her feelings about motherhood in the past. “Being a
mother is my favorite role in life. It gives me purpose, changed me for the
better and made me realize there is nothing else I would rather do with my
time,” she wrote in a 2019 post on her website, Poosh.
