I always wondered what happened to Nan Woods. I was also in
scock when they killed her. Her character felt very real to me
and she was so perfect for the part. I thought it was a horrible
thing to do to get rid of her, but I had also heard she couldn't
handle the fame thing. One of my favorite moments on the show is
the tribute to Cherry that airs after her body returns to China
Beach. They show clips of the character and play the wonderful
music that made China Beach so special.

Very glad to see the reruns on TV Land, but why no shows from
the incredible final season??

I saw bits of the "China Beach" marathon on TVLAND this weekend and wondered
whatever happened to donut dolly "Nan Woods"

She was charming in the role and then was blown up and replaced by Ricki
Lake. According to IMDB...she has had no roles after China Beach???

John Wells has said she was quite young when she did the show and was a bit
overwhelmed by it. She wanted out (hence the death of Cherry) and returned to
Chicago. I believe she's married with a couple kids. But I'd be interested to
know more, if there's anymore to it than that. Cherry was my favorite character

i was kind of wondering why they were running repeats during the marathon, but
i assume that they'll run the entire series when it starts up in may.
