Wondering how many folks vote at a church.
In my precinct, it's very residential and the
Catholic church is the only large building with
a big parking lot.
In the precinct south of here, they vote at the
library; east of here, it's the community center.
Not dissing the Catholic church, but what about
separation of church and state?

We have "absentee with no reason" (in other words,
they put out a few machines and everyone lines up.
The biggest loser in Utah? Our attorney general
(who's basically been inactive for two years since
deciding to learn to ride a motorcycle by jumping
on a Harley), had to be let out of the hospital
today so he could vote. Uh....early voting? Knock
knock? Idiot's going to lose his leg, and we
taxpayers have spent millions trying to save it.

Minnesota is one of the 18 that doesn't have early
voting. I'll check into absentee voting for next
time.
While I'm glad Obama won and Kay Hagan won and
John Sununu's opponent won (can't remember her
name), I'm disappointed Al Franken lost... by
less than 600 votes.

My husband's been in Minneapolis all week....and says
that the Franken recount is the most divisive thing he's
heard in years. People are arguing about it more than
they did over McCain/Obama. FWIW, of course. I
remember listening to Franken on AA years ago, and
hearing his hatred of Norm Coleman.

How is the *recount* divisive? I'm not following - it's state mandated,
right? Something like if the margin is less than 1/2 of one precent,
it's required.
Or are there Florida/2000-type issues going on?

The recount itself isn't divisive; it's the reactions to it.
Coleman's up like 500 votes, and is trying to get
Franken to call off the the recount, saying it's too
expensive. It's just ugly.
