Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters

I remember these two had a hot relationship back in the 70's. Does anyone
recall why they split up?( I have a vision of BP singing Gee Whiz on Carson's
show and bawling after she dedicates the song to Martin who she just broke up
with.)

I thought he dumped her because he wanted to marry and did marry
Victoria Tennant. classic goes with someone for a decade but
'doesn't want to marry' and then meets a new chick on a picture and
is at the altar in a flash.

He and Bernadette broke off long before he ever met Tennant.

Like many powerful men in Hollywood, 54 year old Steve Martin has consistently
managed to sever relationships with his invariably blond, invariably co-star
g'friends as soon as they hit that certain age. Ms. Peters finally proved much
too old for him given that she is only 3 years his junior. Same for Victoria
Tennant, who had just turned 40 when their 8+ year marriage fell apart.

Imagine Steve's shock and surprise when womenhood, in the form of the
24-years-younger-than-he Anne Heche, finally returned the favor.

Then came Ms. Tennant, who is 8 years his junior.
Finally, Ms. Heche, who is 24 years younger.
