True. Rumors persisted that he was gay, but as far as I know, they were
never proven. Shaud did play a few gay roles on Broadway, but that's it.
There was a famous story that said he was *asked* to leave MURPHY BROWN
because of a scandal involving a younger man, but I think this was disproved.
Interesting, though, how Grant Shaud looks almost identical to Hal Sparks of
QUEER AS FOLKS. Definitely a separated-at-birth brothers.

There was blind item running well over a year ago (around the time of the
launch a failed tv series in which Shaud co-starred) regarding the relationship
between a much younger man and an actor on a longtime comedy series that
screamed Shaud of Murphy Brown. I wasn't aware there was evidence to refute
it.

But isn't he dating the woman from the Drew Carey show?
dave
Hadn't heard about that one. But he was linked with Jane Leeves during the
early years of Murphy Brown. Nevertheless, it is very common for closeted
actors to attend functions with lady friends and/or actresses who are
up-and-comers and need the publicity as well.

He did date Christa Miller, but now she's married to Bill Lawrence, who, IIRC,
created the show Scrubs. Miller and Lawrence have a little girl.

She was he was a good guy and left the place immaculate.
Is that a prerequisite of being gay?
I think his last few roles listed on IMDB are cartoon voice-overs. Nice
work if you can get it, but I'd prefer to see him acting again (I agree
that he was great on MB).
