When Loni Anderson was on WKRP (70s sitcom) were her
breasts real or did she have implants. If they were
real then she was simply a totally natural beauty.
Anyone know? I think they were real.

Unbelievable though it may seem, Loni (now a grandmother of three but still looking

I had occasion to see her on set in wardrobe on a 30s picture about Thelma Todd a few
years back in which she wore low décolletage and limited lingerie for the skin-tight
bias cut clothing designed by Robert Turterrice (who did all the Moonlighting stuff).

She rivalled the Golden Gate Bridge as an architectural wonder.

I feel they are real, esp. as she has said that she actually underwent
breast reduction surgery at one point. Then again, this is Hollywood...

The film was based on Andy Edmunds' book "Hot Toddy" but in a moment of network
silliness, the late, lamented but prone to occasional silliness Brandon Tartikoff
changed the title at the very last minute (right before the TV Guide Ad deadline
which is the last moment to change a title despite any advance publicity which
may have been banked) to "White Hot: The Mysterious Murder of Thelma Todd." At
the time it was made, Anderson was one of the big MOW stars and there was a
bidding war to make the film. At one point Loni dropped out and everyone tried
to get casting to make the picture. Farrah Fawcett wanted to do it. Raquel Welch
wanted to do it. Meredith Baxter (yikes) wanted to do it. Ann Jillian (who
resembled Toddy more than any of them) wanted to do it. But ultimately Anderson
came back.

By the way, Loni will be appearing on the syndicated series VIP as Pamela
Anderson's MOTHER. (sigh)

I doubt Loni Anderson had implants back in her WKRP days.

I don't even think implants even existed back then. Those were the days
when breasts were truly beautiful. Now anybody (even a guy) can get big
boobs for only a couple grand.

FWIW, I do remember her talking about the breast reduction in one TV
interview a while back when she was married to Burt Reynolds (and before
they adopted their son, I think).

Implants go all the way back to the 1960s, well before "WKRP" aired. AFAIK, the
first well-known recipient of implants was a San Francisco dancer named Carol
Doda, who enlarged herself to 44-inch proportions and thereafter had a long,
successful and varied career.

In article <931343670.4969.3...@news.demon.co.uk>,

Loni Anderson has had two (or would it be "four"?) breast reductions. It
took a few years but they grew back.

Breast regrowth after breast reduction is most common with
girls who receive the operation when they were too young and
their breasts are still in active growth, although it can also
sometimes happen to mature patients like Loni. I rememember one
girl who received this operation at age 14 while her breasts
were vigorously growing. Now she presumably must get regular
breast reductions for the rest of her life.

Anyone notice how buxom Drew Barrymore is looking lately?

Implants exist way before we become aware of a such thing. I think it was
created in the 50's or early 60's. Anyway, even back then, many stars used a
plain old sellotape to make their boobs that beautiful for the likes of you,
darls.

Either that or they used the old trick - two linings on a dress. One is a
bustier to hold the boobs up and waist tuck in and another to 'smooth' over
the bustier. That's how the 50's/early 60's women looked so facking good in
those impossible-to-walk-or-sit-in dresses.

That's why it's called ACTING. Evidently, Loni's performance and physical
appearance in both roles was good enough to be cast for those roles.

Drew was a fat teen. She only has a career in part because she got her
weight down. She's going to be battling the bulge her whole life. She has
already had one breast reduction.

I, for one, am glad she's getting all these roles. It's nice to see a
full-figured
gal up on the screen rather than the tits-on-a-stick type the public has had

foisted upon them lately.

Is it my imagination but does Drew have one of the prettiest
smiles around. Also you are correct it is very refreshing
seeing someone with some meat on their bones rather then
watching someone who should eat ie Calista Flockhart.

She certainly does. Even if she's not the strongest actress out there,
her looks, charm and attitude more than make up for it.

Drew is adorable. If she were skinny, she just wouldn't be a cute
IMHO! Yeah, she isn't a great actress, but she is fun to watch just
because she radiates on the screen. She always seems so damn happy
about life!

I had occasion to see her in natural light (daytime) at a restaurant in LA within the
month and she looked unbelievable and turned heads that seemed happy with what they
were seeing [a place where people tend to be blasé about celebs per se]... video
lighting aint always the best way to see people who require make-up; I thought she
looked great (a little skinny)...

A friend was a waiter, and served Loni a few years back. He said her
face is as smooth and shiny as a porcelain doll, but her hands are
*old lady* hands. He said that she looked inhuman - like some sort of
walking Barbie. I did notice in a TV movie she did a while back that
she really does have granny-hands, and I thought the wide-eyed
gutshot-horse look she had was because her character was a psycho.
Perhaps it's just too-snug facial tightening...

A bit less than 10 years ago, a coworker ran a marathon at which Loni made
an appearance. She said that she was a bit shocked at what she saw - what
struck
her most was that Loni's head seemed incredibly large, and her hair really
cotton-candy-like,
but her body (and particularly her rear!) seemed very small and almost
frail!
