I don't believe this at all. She gained 20lbs...big deal. Not like he's
anything special to look at.

Don't be so tough on him. Maybe he was frightened by a chipmunk as a child.
Somehow I have trouble believing that a girlfriend eating Twinkies
would really affect someone's well of creativity, if the well were
deep enough. Sounds to me like this is a front for "my girlfriend just
isn't as sexy to me anymore now that she's put on weight."

Amen to that. And many men, my husband included, thinks she looks
better as Bridget anyway, so it's not like she'll be alone for long.

OK, so he doesn't like dating a Hollywood actress because the
"lifestyle choice" hurts his creative edge, yet doing filmwork on his
own is okay. At least be consistent in your argument, dude.
Heh, then he'd better not have kids! Well it's useful for her to know
that if they got married and she got sick or something he could then
dump her because sickness tends to make you less dynamic. Couldn't he
just have gone with I'm Not Good Enough For You and left it at that?
Trish

He seems to be doing a pretty good job of that on his own.

Agreed. Plus, it just doesn't work to blame someone else for one's own lack of
creativity. Angst is everywhere. Use it! lol
Shallow is not the word. This character has neither personality nor
backbone.
I think the heading should read "Zellweger dumps White upon opening of
eyes and seeing bigger dork"
I agree. And actually, it had to do with her getting in character, not the
actual weight gain itself.
There were published pics of them holding hands and dining together.
Since when does holding hands or dining with a co-worker (like in
"Cold Mountain") mean "We're dating!"? ... As for pictures, there will
be many, including real ones and others not so very real ...

Jack was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too cool to be linked w/ RZzzzz, but it's
perversely hilarious how the relationship ended.
I'm sure he's very pleased.

This is not about IMDB or teenhollywood. There are many other sources
providing similar details and this is not about picking on the guy. He
got the good PR and should have stayed with it instead of turning into
a jerk and making it about becoming "creativity" challenged because of
her job. (what a laugh!)
'Bridget baggage' splits up White and Zellweger
11 November 2003
US film star Renee Zellweger has split from rocker Jack White for good
- because he couldn't stand her middle-of-the-road Bridget Jones
persona, a report says.
WENN newswire reported Zellweger had recently gained weight again to
play the neurotic title character in upcoming sequel The Edge of
Reason, and her "becoming" Bridget Jones proved too much for White
Stripes frontman White, who left their on-off relationship.
Insiders told the newswire White was worried that Zellweger's
average-Jane Bridget character would affect his music.
"He's told her to get in touch after she's finished this project and
shed the Bridget baggage," a source on the film set told WENN.
White saw the role as a "lifestyle choice," that combined with the
distance between them equalled a temporary dead end, the source said.
"Renee thinks he's just being shallow. There's no way she'll go back
for more."
The pair met while filming Cold Mountain, the hotly-tipped Jude Law
and Nicole Kidman film that was White's Hollywood debut.
We just don't know what happened. Only two people know that and they
are not talking. We shouldn't make moral judgements based on something
which someone said when they are not even prepared to give their
names.

Maybe all those extra pounds proved too much for rocker Jack White.
When his girlfriend Renee Zellweger fattened up again for the "Bridget
Jones" sequel, White dumped her, the World Entertainment News Network
reported.
"Cuddly nights in with piles of junk food are just not for him," a
source said. "He told her to get in touch after she's finished this
project and shed the Bridget baggage."
Looks like Zellweger shed about 170 pounds herself, now that White is
out of the picture.

Let me get this straight. His girlfriend puts on weight for a movie
role and he thinks that's going to affect his creativity.
Is this guy a wanker or what?

'Amazon.com and IMDB seemed to realize what they were getting
themselves into when they partnered with WENN. They, along with other
sites that license the "Celebrity News" column, pretty much wash their
hands of any responsibility with a disclaimer at the bottom of each
day's offering of a dozen or so tidbits.'
'The disclaimer reads: "The Internet Movie Database takes no
responsibility for the content or accuracy of the articles above. The
Celebrity News column is licensed from WENN and published for the
entertainment of our users only. This column does not represent IMDB's
opinions nor can we guarantee that WENN's reporting is completely
factual." '
'But this begs the question, can a site like IMDB have it both ways?
By selecting WENN's service and giving it one of the most prominent
shingles on the World Wide Web, the Seattle-based giant is essentially
legitimizing the information, even though its stated goal is to trade
on questionable ethics for the Internet's prized commodity known as
"eyeballs." It says so right there in the disclaimer – the column is
published for the entertainment of our users only.'
Jack White on Canada's MuchMusic last Friday,
"People put people up so they can judge them, like these shows, talk
shows or reality shows. It's like you can sit in a chair at home and
judge people and say, 'He shouldn't go out with her' or 'She's too
fat.' But I think it's too judgmental. If everyone sort of realizes
they're putting things on other people, maybe we'd be a better
community."
