I don't even like Rod Stewart, but I've heard his songs enough to know
that he didn't write "You're in My Heart" for Britt Ekland, as People mag
claims on page 124 of their 1/25 issue. He does refer to her in the song
thusly:"the big bosomed lady with the Dutch accent could try to change my
point of view, her ad lib lines were well rehearsed but my heart cried out
for you." It's a love song to the woman he left Britt for, obviously,
unless there were TWO Dutch women in his life. Since I was not a fan of
his I don't remember if it was Alana Hamilton he left Britt for and wrote
the song about (but she was the one he married after leaving Britt). The
song came out in 1977. No one on the planet at the time could have failed
to hear about all these goings on, and be well aware of the song. People
magazine pride themselves on being thorough in their facts, but now they
are slipping into the realm of TV Guide.

This is just another example of x-ers running wild on editorial staffs,
writing about things they know nothing about and guessing facts, since
they were 2 years old when Rod Stewart was doing all this romancing and
breaking up and making headlines doing it.

If I am by chance wrong and Rod did have TWO Dutch girlfriends, mea culpa.

...neither is Britt Dutch (she's a Swede) nor buxom (she even did one of
those nudie soapers on Playboy TV in the '80s in which she constantly
commented on how small her breasts were)...

Be kind...I don't post here often, but...

The story goes (I had a huge crush on Rod when I was twelve---yeah, I know,
but youth is a most confusing time) that Ekland said that Rod told her the
song in question was written about her, but he always maintained the song
was about his love for soccer. I tend to believe his side...because he
seems shallow enough to have written a love song about soccer. As I recall,
she was off filming some third rate film and he was back in LA having a
grand ol' time. He had taken up with some model or actress, but it wasn't
Hamilton. She came home, got mad, he parted company with her. She sued him
for palimony shortly after, wrote a book, and now she's ???

Goodness, the clutter that fills my mind....

I'm glad you wrote out the lines to the song "You're In My Heart" for
me. I always thought Rod was saying:

The big bosom lady, with a touch of clap

Thanks for clearing that up.

This one made me choke on my Diet Coke. Thanks, Rita!

Britt Ekland never had a Dutch accent. She does have a
Swedish accent though.

Yes, you are wrong. He may have had a Dutch girlfriend
with big knockers, but Brit Ekland is a Swede with small tits.

ACTUALLY, the last time I saw or heard anything about Ekland, I SEEM to recall
she was living with some much younger honey ( may have married him actually...
I think a 20 year younger musician, perchance?) and I believe her knockers had
gotten MUCH bigger a la implants...

or once again, I may have dreamed this...

I can't speak about the tits <g>, but she is/was married to Slim Jim
Phantom, formerly of the Stray Cats. <at least I think they finally
married>

Britt's first husband was Peter Sellars, Victoria's father. Britt lived
with Lou Adler in the early 70s, after his divorce from Shelly Fabares.
They had one son but never married. She hooked up with Rod in the
mid-70s but they never wed. She was married to Slim Jim for several
years and I believe they had *one* child in the late 80s. I recall
seeing her pregnant in the ladies' room of an LA nightclub at that time.
I haven't heard much about her since she and Slim Jim split.

hey,

yes, she had small ones but not anymore! She enlarged them quite a bit some
years ago.
But Swedish she is, she did a talkshow here a few years ago.
