Put simply...surfer shorts. They're baggy as hell (easy access),
come in a great plethora of styles and colors (from the staid to the
obscenely ornate), have velcro or one-snap waistbands (again, easy
access) and have deep pockets with velcro closures so you don't lose
your wallet in the private room couch (or to an unscrupulous dancer's
slight of hand). They're also a bit more durable than your off the
rack shorts, while thin enough to make you really happy.
Failing that I like cut-off B.D.U. (battle dress uniform, military
cammos to those in the cheap seats) shorts.
But hey, don't limit yourself, wear a kilt if you can get away with
it. I still have fond memories of the one night I wore mine to a gents.
club. chicks dig gams too ya' know.

Those big plastic buttons on the fly must make for an interesting lap
dance.
One of the mythical heros of ancient ASS-C claimed soccer shorts were
the best. I met him in SF a few years ago, but I didn't pay attention
to what type of shorts he was wearing. I do remember him asking me if
I had ever tried soccer shorts.
Sweat pants are also popular among some of the posters here.
I usually wear a pair of cotton slacks. They are comfortable, thin
enough to "get feeling," soft on the dancer and you don't look like a
bum off the street.
I may try that kilt idea though...

Outter wear is debatible, and I am interested.
However, what I've found to be the best is a pair of silk/or somewhat
silk boxers. Friction is appiled from above, but down where it counts
the milage counts a bit more.
However, cost and cleaning costs, are not "responsible". But then
again, what about this hobby is?
My ATF did tell me, once in December in MI, to "Wear shorts
next time! Damn it! I have easier access to things that way "
<sigh> I miss Detroit.</sigh>
Dark shorts with elastic waistbands and loose legging literally come in
handy. While having an amazing lap dance from one of my ATF's, she
reached up through the leg opening and stroked me, all while being
upside down and grinding her crotch in my face. The easy access
waistband helped alot soon afterwards. ;-)
Shirts are a bit tougher. I've never tried the western style shirts, but
dark, simple T-shirts with a pocket work great. I put the $1 and $5
dollar bills in the pocket (one of a couple of bulges the dancers like
to see) and the shirt itself is easily untucked or, if you get lucky
enough, removed. While dressing up, I still stick to dark shirts with a
pocket or two for the money, and small buttons. I have one shirt that
has an extra flap of fabric that covers the top several buttons. I
usually have only a few buttons in the middle actually fastened, leave
the rest open, and tuck as much of my shirt as looks good into my pants.
In the heat of the lap dance, the dancer usually has to fuss with three
or four buttons max.
Now, some obvious, and not so obvious, don'ts. Light colored pants/shorts
are a no-go. I had the misfortune of wearing khaki pants while out on an
unscheduled trip to a dance club during a bachelor party (yeah, dance
clubs visits are a natural for bp's, but for this guy, it was completely
out of the blue). Any ways, I got a lap dance from an amazingly hot
blonde and wound up having to wear my shirt untucked and pulled down as
low as possible. Belts of any kind are not recommended, especially with
big buckles. One of the few times I forgot and wore a dress belt, the
dancer was basically giving me a thigh and knee dance instead of being
on my lap. Depending on the size, shape, and quality, most watches,
necklaces, neck braces, and eyeglasses should be removed for the dance
to maximize comfort for you and the dancer(s). Hats are usually good, as
the dancer can amuse herself by removing it from your head and putting
it on one or more of her body parts. It can also provide a good
repository for items temporarily removed from your pockets, like keys,
wallets, ladders, etc. If you do this kind of thing (like I do), keep it
within your field of vision or under your foot if you don't trust the
area you are in.
The majority of this research was conducted in the ever popular E. St.
Louis area strip clubs. Anyone who has been to that area knows what a
primo choice of clubs there are within 30 minutes drive from one
another. If anyone has been there and knows of a better club area in the
U.S., please let me know. I am all for more testing in the field.
Big Tip - Your mileage WILL vary.
I would submit that Baltimore's Block is a candidate for a better club
area, with 18 clubs in literally a one block area.
At any one of these the PL can usually receive a BBHJ and often much
more.
