Hi all,

The recurring mention of Teri Weigel's porn career (they really oughta
sell earplugs with her movies!) made me wonder about other
Playmates who may have done hardcore -- I'd have sworn Teri wasn't
the first.
Well, my question was answered when I received some flyers from
Excalibur video today: they have an old movie called "Deadly
Love" starring Susan Kiger! If I remember right, she was in Playboy
in the very late '70's/early 80's. Anyone remember when? And
does anyone know if Deadly Love is a good movie?

I understand that Teri Weigel is the first Playmate that did porn
without an aliased name, and there were others before her, but using
aliases.

I don't think "Susan Kiger" is an alias, unless the name was faked
for her Playboy appearance or her real name was exposed after first
assuming a nom-de-fellatio for porn.

And, to ask again, did anyone see her film "Deadly Love?" And, if
so, what did you think of it?

I seem to remember a Susan Lynn Kiger from way back when.
After Playboy, I believe she did a number of B movies (I haven't seen
Deadly Love) but she was tragically killed in an automobile
accident quite some time ago.

Sounds like you're referring to Claudia Jennings, Playmate in 11/69 and
PMOY for the following year. She did a number of B movies and was killed
in an accident her VW in LA (I think in the mid '70s). I hadn't heard of
Susan Kiger (PM in 1/77) being killed (but that doesn't mean it hasn't
happened).

This could well be, I am only going from memory on this one.

This has been discussed before. If memory serves, though Susan (Lynn?) Kiger
was in the cast of a porno movie, she didn't actually have any sex scenes,
so Weigel is still the first real porn star.

I don't think so. Constance Money started as a Playboy model and went
on to do Barbara Broadcast and at least one other hard core porn film.
This was back in the late seventies.

Constance Money did two other films besides BB, I think. "The
Opening of Misty Beethoven" and "A Taste of Money." (Or, am I
misremembering this?) I've never seen either one. Can anyone give
a review of one or both?
Regarding Susan Kiger, I ordered "Deadly Love" as my freebie film
(Excalibur has a buy two, get one free deal), so we'll soon have the
answer to whether she really did hardcore. :>

Since I only have this movie, I plopped it in today and managed to crank
out this review for you....

This is, of course, just _my_ opinion of this movie. Yours may (and
probably will) be entirely different.

_The Opening of Misty Beethoven_

(c) 1975 Crescent Films

Distributed by Video-X-Pix

Starring: Constance Money With: Mary Stuart
Jamie Gillis Janet Baldwin
Jacqueline Beudant Cynthia Gardner
Helene Simone
Marlene Parker
Terri Hall
Ras King
Gloria Leonard
Directed by Henry Paris Casey Donovan

The Plot:

Dr. Seymore Love (Mr. Gillis) is an author who opens the movie doing
field research in a 'Pee Wee Herman-type' porno theater. It is here he runs
into Misty Beethoven (Ms. Money) who offers to give him a 'no frills' (hand
job) for five bucks. Ya' see, Misty don't like 'real' sex too much,
especially when it comes to blow jobs. They are _definitely_ out. To make a
long story short, Dr. Love convinces Misty to allow him and his cohort
Geraldine Rich (Ms. Beudant) to attempt a 'sexual makeover' on her. Why?
Research value for the Doc, a good time for the filthy rich Rich, and a chance
for Misty to be crowned the 'Golden Rod Girl' (Golden Rod is a smut rag
published by some creep named Lawrence Layman). Misty's teachers proceed to
subject her to a regiment of sexual exercises and she learns at an astonishing
rate. Needless to say, she succeeds, ends up in some kind of freaky
relationship with Dr. Love, and closes the movie instructing the next Golden
Rod hopeful with Love and Rich. That's the end of that one.

Highlights:

-Misty giving a guy dressed like Napolean a hand job in the
movie theater (he's REAL old). :)
-The various interesting dildoes Misty is made to practice with
(including one that looked to be made entirely of candy).
Beware the yeasties! :)
-The scenes in the airplanes. Dr. Love makes reservations for
a '1st class, sex, non-smoking, adult film' ticket. _That's_
my kind of airline!
-A scene where Misty dons a strap-on and bungholes Lawrence
while he's fucking his old lady. Never seen that before...
-Lots of chicks in French maid outfits. :)

My Review:

This movie has been called a great erotic movie classic, but frankly
after sitting through it for the second time in ten years I can find nothing
remotely great or classic about it. The problem? That's an easy one to
answer - too much plot, not enough sex. It's not that it's a _bad_ plot
(for a porno), mind you, but it continually gets in the way of the action.
Another minor annoyance was the sound track. Ever seen one of those
terrible european soft-core jobs? That's where the music comes from,
without a doubt. But hey, it _was_ made in the 70's, so what do you expect.
The short takes on the sex scenes and the extreme over-abundance of blow
jobs also made this a real sleeper in my eyes. Oh, if you like tight gyno
shots or women who don't let their thatch get too overgrown, this movie
is not for you. Those who love plots should go rent this one ASAP.

RATING: 2 stars out of 5.
