Announcement:

I would like to take this opportunity to announce a new custom forum for
those of you with access to Delphi (or thinking of joining). It is entitled
Women in Power and it is Custom Forum 373. This is an open forum for the
discussion of topics pertaining to Feminine Authority. All viewpoints will
be welcome to particpate in a friendly spirited discussion. Aspects ranging
from lifestyle issues, spirituality, women's studies, sexuality and more
will be open to debate. BDSM folk are welcome to attend as well as any
others who have an interest in these topics. Reading lists, Internet
resources and publications will be discussed. In fact, it's pretty open as
long as it's relevant to the forum title. Once topics are determined,
certain sub-topics will only be able to be accessed by adults, so it's
pretty PG rated to begin. Feminists, moderate to radical are welcome. We
really want this to be a fun, sharing place, so if you have an account on
Delphi, or were thinking of getting one, why not stop in?

It sounds like a fabulous forum - I only wish it were on another service.

Delphi, of course, is owned by noted right wing fanatic Rupert
Murdoch...and i couldn't see giving him so much as a dime.

chrsee, I understand how you feel..but consider this: It is time for Women to
take back control of ALL that we can...and this is just a small part. Consider
the words of Mother Foundress in our first conference..

>
"The oracle at Delphi was once a Goddess site, then usurped by patriarchal
religion, we can now reclaim the oracle through this forum."

It is about time and only appropriate since Delphi was once Greece's
oldest, most famous oracle, dedicated to the Goddess. Before the
patriarchal cult of Apollo murdered the Priestesses and usurped the site.
It was a political move to control the people of the times, much the same
way modern politicians attempt to control the media.

So, with that, we now have a chance to give women a voice again. The
current struggle for equality has been met with tremendous opposition. It
is time for women to look past equality and set their sights on leadership.
There are many groups out there that attempt to do just that, but most are
missing some vital element, or key. There are four aspects that all social
movements, or even one on one relationships, need to be successful. Some
call it the Witch's Pyramid, other factions have other names for it. I call
it the Four Fold Path to Enlightenment. The elements are: physical,
emotional, intellectual and spiritual.

Here in WIP we will discuss these topics as well as many others.

Oh give me a break! Please! Do you honestly think that it matters one
whit that the ancient Oracle at Delphi was for the worship of a Goddess
and that a modern company uses the same name? I'm with Chrissy, Murcoch
is a jerk.

You're really streching reality here Becky, even for you.

Very truly yours,
Ms. Margo

In Philadelphia, the all-sports radio station goes by the call-letters WIP.
In the 2pm to 6pm slot are two guys, Steve Fredericks and Mike Missanelli, who
host the "S & M Show".

Coincidence? You decide.

Mother Foundress-

i would not dream of even suggesting that Women should not have such a
voice... and i find it delightful, if suprising, that someone who has
demonstrated such contempt for Women (and most men as well) in the past
(Murdoch) has consented to allowing such an appropriate place for these
discussions.

Sounds more like Mother Theresa to me (note: this is not meant to be
disrespectful to Mother Theresa...) ...

Sigh ...

Well, there is also the femsuprem mailing list which is accessible from
the Internet in general. (Note: This is d...@renaissoft.com, who's got
herself an account she can post from until her site problems are fixed.
:)

If you want to talk about issues of "women in power" but don't want to
join up with Delphi, feel free to send e-mail to
femsupre...@renaissoft.com with nothing in the subject, and in the
body the word "subscribe."

Hope this doesn't come off as a shameless plug. :) I just noticed a few
people who don't want anything to do with Murdoch and Delphi.
