Kurtain Kraft ???

Yesterday, I saw an informercial regarding Kurtain Kraft.
It is a product of selling devices for creating your own
window treatments.
As I am in the process of building my first home, and draperies
are NOT included I am interested in this. But, I'm a
natural skeptic and have questions ...
Does anyone out there have experience with this stuff? It sounds
wonderful and easy, maybe toooo easy. Sewing doesn't bother me,
except for maybe the time involved, but I say -- if its easy, cheap,
and looks good -- that's fine with me.
So, any experience out there?

It is very easy to install the hooks and style the fabric. The price
was reasonable in comparison to the fabric stores similar hardware.
You can change the style of your curtains at anytime. I really like
the look of the curtains in our bedroom. I plan on using the ladder
rod for a valance downstairs in the office. The ladder rod seems to
be cheaply made, but it does its work. Also the video that you
get with it is very simple to follow. I have plenty of left over
hardware, but I am giving some of it to friends for their curtains.
SO far, I've gotten a lot of complements on it.
I did sew a hem on each curtain that hung down, because I used decorator
fabric from the bolt. You can use sheets and get away much cheaper and
less work.

I also saw the Kurtain Kraft infomercial on TV, and I decided to order it.
All of my windows have mini-blinds on them and I was looking for some way
to dress them up without spending a lot of money. In my opinion, they
are GREAT! You would now believe how many compliments I have received on
them. I did my kitchen and 3 bedroom windows, using their rings. It is
so easy! Here are a few tips:
Their instructions for how much fabric to buy are not very clear. I ended
up not buying enough and had to buy more and sew the pieces together. It's
not that noticeable, but measure carefully.
They say that you don't have to do any sewing, but I would finish the raw
ends of each length of fabric with a narrow hem.
Putting up the rings and arranging the fabric is very easy and a lot of fun!
It's a little difficult to make sure the fabric is centered, I folded mine
in half and used a staple gun to staple the center of the fabric to the wall
above the center of the window to hold it in place while I arranged each end.
Later, I also used the staple gun to attach the valance across the length of
the window, so it wouldn't sag in the middle.
What I like the best is that it is easy to take the fabric down, if you want
to wash it, or change it somehow, and put it back up again.
Well, these are just a few ideas, but I really love their product and was
amazed at how easy it was and how great it looks. I porbably won't use the
ladders or the wreath, but if you have an odd shaped window, the ladder
would be good. Anyway if you have any questions, let me know!
