Sounds like kindergarten when I say that. What I learned was that I really
hate dresses. I spent hours getting just the right fit, put the dress on and
I hate it. Nice style, looks fine. I just hate the way I look in dresses.
I've decided any sewing I do for myself is going to be tee shirts and pants.
Not very innovative but at least I know I can wear them any place and be
happy with my appearance. That's what counts in the long run. Clothes that
look well, fit well and are comfortable.

I'm so sorry you are unhappy with your dress. :( That really just stinks
when you put time and effort (in no small amounts) into a project and then
don't love the finished results. But! You've learned a good lesson. :)
And now you know what you enjoy wearing, so you can go forth and serge
t-shirts to your heart's content! The very best part of making things for
yourself is how good you feel when you know it looks good and You Made It!
So if it's t-shirts and comfy pants that do it for you, then more power to
ya! Nothing at all wrong with being comfy.

And we'll just put you over next to my mother. She would rather wear pants
to just about anything. She has a cute figure, and a Great set of legs.
But she loathes how she looks in dresses. When she ***has*** to wear one
she always says "Ok. Look. I do have legs." lol

So whatcha making next??? :)

The thing with dresses is that I've never liked them. Always put it to the
fact that they didn't fit well. My life sstyle is very casual and relaxed.
If I have to dress up like a big girl it's in evening pants and a lovely
top. When I returned to hospital nursing many years ago it was after pants
were permitted in hospitals. I was in 7th heaven. When I worked in a school
the last 11 years of my working life it was in pants. They just made sense
to me. The dress thing is always "well I'll give it one more try."
Next 3 projects are 2 princess dresses for DGDS and new curtains for my
living room. Tomorrow I start sewing for the first princess. It's
Simplicity 4647, it's supposed to have an over skirt.. I'm doing it a little
different than the pattern. I'm making the overskirt as a separate piece ,
like a skirt so it can be worn with or without. The top is purplr and the
skirt looks like a watercolor painting of flowers, It's white background,
pink and purple flowers and green leaves. The over skirt is a purple tulle.
The curtains are white muslin with a blue edge that I'll do on the serger.
