I am making curtains for the nursery out of 100% cotton medium-weight
fabric. What kind of thread should I use? I noticed that on my last
project--a maternity jumper--some of the top-stiching has dissolved on
my flat-felled seams. Thanks.

What kind of thread did you use the first time? I use Gutermann
polyester thread on almost everything, and have never had a problem. I
have some curtains that I made 2 years ago with cotton fabric and poly
thread and have not had a problem.
I would use something that is good quality, and I wouldn't use something
with a core.

I think you can use any good quality thread on the market, such as
Mettler, Guterman, Coats and Clark ect. My machine seems to adapt to all
these threads. Happy sewing and have fun!!

I use good quality 100% polyester thread for most everything. Try the
Metrosene thread. It also comes on 165 yd spools, instead of the 110 yd
spools that Guterman offers.
Good luck.

I use 100% poloyester thread. Made by A&E. If you think about it, on any
100% cotton t-shirt you buy in the store is made with polyester thread.
And we all know they last forever. Make sure the thread you buy is made
in the U.S.A. There is thread out there that is made in Mexico and
similar places. Don't be fooled the quality is not there.
