I have finally decided to organize my sewing stuff..
After spending most of the afternoon untangling loose thread & elastics
from craft rings, bobbins, needles, and lord knows what else I am on the
road to organization..
I have claimed a corner of the computer room - and am ready to set up
shop..
When we buy a house (next spring) I plan on having a sewing room, for
now - this will do.
The good thing is - we have our kitchen table back & my 2 year old can
no longer fiddle with my machine while I am sewing..
Now that I have everything in order - how do I keep it that way?
I'd love to hear any tips you guys can offer about storing all this
stuff - and all my fabric.. I hate throwing anything away...
I am almost finished with my H'ween costumes for my kids -I'll post web
pages when they are finished..
For those who are interested - Sears Portrait studios gives you FREE
8X10 photos of your kids in costume.. no sitting fees, completely
free.. Here's the link:http://www.searsportrait.com/coupons/index.html
Enjoy!

Great and glorious good luck to you on that end. I've never been able to do
it. I do have a sewing **room** which is a carport that we had enclosed,
right off the laundry area, for all my stuff. I even went so far as to get
built in cabinets, shelves, tables, clear boxes, magazine racks, etc., etc.
Since I was so organized, I decided I could continue feeding the addiction.
It's been one year since we set it up for me.
I can't find the floor..........
Which goes to prove the old adage: Stuff--especially sewing
stuff--accumulates to fit the space provided for it and then some.

Well, as I tell my DH when he and maybe i retire I'll have less money and more
time!

The worst/best thing that's happened lately is that I was bitten by the
quilting bug and have started a calico stash; I'm divorcing my husband and
annexing his bedroom for fabric storage!
I'm really lucky to have 12-year-old twin boys that enjoy sewing. They already
have their own sewing machines and if I keep buying fabric at this rate,
they'll inherit quite a stash someday (40 - 50 more years of fabric is a scary
thought!)
