My husband bought me a Brother 1034D Serger for Christmas. I am pretty much clueless. It has been working great until today. Well, I guess it still works, but I can't seem to figure out why my left needle thread is not going into the chain. It feeds through the machine fine, but just is not going into the chain. I have re threaded the machine several times. Any idea's?

Rethread the mchine, from scratch, following the manual or a youtube
video. You're threading it wrong, or you bent something. Threading
is more likely.

Very well could be a threading issue or could be dull knives or a needle to
looper relationship issue.

Chances are there's a problem with the left needle -- it's worn, or a little dinged up.
Replace both needles, making sure the new ones are in right way around and fully up
in the needle clamp. Rethread the needles and try again.

I find when I've got trouble starting a chain, it helps to pull all 4 threads
under and behind the presser foot when they're in the loose condition, then
twist the threads into a "rope", and while holding the end of the twisted threads, start
stitching. The chain will usually form then. If it doesn't, chances are that the threading
is messed up somewhere, and starting the threading over from scratch can help.

ps: excellent beginner serger troubleshooting book -- cheap as a used book:
Ultimate Serger Answer Guide. Good photos and suggestions; the machine used is
very similar to yours. Try Amazon or ABE.com for a used copy.

Would you like to cue is in to what you're talking about? Because you said "chain", I'm guessing you're working
with a serger. The usual cause for sergers not chaining is incorrect threading or a damaged needle or two.
