Probably shouldn't have done that. You may have only needed to adjust the
upper looper to increase its distance from the lower looper.

Your best bet is to take it to a service technician. If you have a sewing
machine timing gauge, you can use it to set proper timing between the
lower looper and left needle by adjusting the position of the cam that
drives the lower looper. That will give you a good starting point for
adjusting the upper looper. There are probably burrs on the lower looper,
needle plate and needle guard(s) that will need to be found and smoothed
before it will stitch properly.
