My wife likes the embroidery system of her Viking #1 very much,
so I was thinking about buying the software of the Embroidery Pro
system, but the price is realy high.

Does anyone know the file-format of the Viking so i can generate the
files by myself and i have only to buy the Customising System ???

PS: I will enjoy programming the software to generate embroidery files

Hi,

The format is .hus - In my opinion the software is not worth the money. I
purchased the 1+and the software and ended up returning all of it. It is not
user friendly nor can you edit in certain programs. I ended up buying the
Bernina Artista 180 with software and it is a much much better system. It's
technology is about 10 years ahead of Viking.

I don't know exactly what you are asking for but the format is .hus. If you
get the program called smart sizer it can convert the files into .hus format
for you. Or... Husquavarna has a conversion program - don't know how expensive
it is. I have a #1+ and have used my customizing a little. I bought the
digitizing software as well, but haven't used it any. I am still waiting for
my dealer to offer lessons on the programs.

I am still new at this myself so if what I told you was not what you needed - i
apologize.

In article <3635A7...@mdmtws3.tuwien.ac.at>,
> My wife also is starting to work with this same format on her Viking 1+

machine. She is finding the machine great but the lacck of affordable
software is noticeable. We too have only the Cutomising system. Would be nice
to hear how others our solving this problem

Try joining some sewing lists at http://www.quiltropolis.com go to the
mail/lists section and sign up for the different ones you want. (Isuggest
digest format!) There are HUNDREDS of sites out there that have free designs
to download! I also suggest you get the Buzz Tools program for convertng the
desins in other formats...http://www.buzztools.com I have the Rose and have
onlt bought 5 or so designs but have over 10,000 designs because of the
freebies! To make designs in the HUS format you will need a digitizer and
that is about $600.00 and up more.
