I have an old Sears sewing machine that was given to me years ago.

It never worked, and I've had it in storage, and need to get rid of
it.

I hate to just toss it into the garbage dumpster.

Can old sewing machines be recycled?

Drop it off at your local charity thrift store or list it as a freebie
on someplace like Craigslist. Someone will pounce upon it with cries of
great glee, refurbish it and put it back into servie.

That was a great suggestion! I wouldn't have thought of listing a non-
working sewing machine on FreeCycleSeattle.

But at your suggestion I gave it a try, and guess what?

That's right! Someone who refurbishes old sewing machines came by and
picked it up yesterday.

Yay!
