Does this software need a dongle that might be missing? If so, you are
out of luck.

That was my thought as well. I'm not familiar with PSW1.1,
but I have PSW 2.0a and it *does* require a dongle. In
addition, OP does not say what computer OS he/she uses, nor
what hardware he/she has, and it makes a difference.
My PSW requires serial connectors, but I had bought a new
notebook to use with it. I had to stand on my head and hold
my tongue just right in order to get the serial-to-USB
connection to work. I finally re-activated an older
computer with native serial ports, running XP, and now
everything works smoothly.

Hi again, Ok you have lost me...I have no Idea what a dongle is.Ok I
googled dongle and if I understand it is a cable?
My computer is running Windows xp. The psw is connected using a usb
converter.
I appreciate your answers. I need to find some place in my area that might
be able to assist me with it....Thanks again.

Your friendly, neighbourhood Singer dealer might be a good place to start.
A dongle is a security/anti-pirating device. I think most of the newer
ones look like a USB memory device.

D...
I am a co-moderator on the Yahoo! group TeamSewAmused. We are devoted to
the enlightenment and enjoyment in using the Singer XL model machines AND
PSW software (all versions). Even though the machines and software are no
longer supported by Singer we can offer a wealth of information from our
group which is composed of many PSW users. You have a great machine and a
good program, too, even though it is not easily self-taught. I know -- I
was where you are just 3 years ago.
If you're not already a member of Yahoo!, do sign up and then join our
group. Your questions will be answered -- we have experience running the
software on all Windows systems from 95 on up to Vista. Our knowledge is
shared willingly with anyone desiring to learn how to use PSW.
I do hope you will join us.
