I have seen a MAISTERGRAM embroidery machine very cheap (second hand).
It seems quite old ......... I've never seen this brand (MAISTERGRAM)
Anyone can comment something about this brand?
Wich type of computer can these machines be connected to?
Wich format use for the embroidery designs? (.dst, .pes, etc)
manufacturers web-site? I couldn't find any information in Internet.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Very good make of machine. Here is their home page
http://www.mac-meister.com/

I have used them in the commercial end of this business. Very reliable and
well built. We used the Pulse system and DST most of the time.

I believe you are referring to "Meistergram". Meistergram is one of the
oldest monogramming machine manufacturers in the world, dating back to the
1930s. They were based in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1985, they were purchased by
Macpherson, Inc. and operations were moved to Greensboro, North Carolina.
The manufacturing division of Macpherson was sold to Barudan Co., Ltd., of
Japan at that time (keeping the manufacturing operations in Cleveland),
while sales, support and spare parts operations went to Macpherson in North
Carolina. In 1995, they officially became Macpherson Meistergram. In 1997,
Macpherson Meistergram was sold to Willcox and Gibbs, in Atlanta, where they
continue to operate independently as a subsidiary company.

In 2000, Barudan America purchased the sales and support operations of
Macpherson Meistergram, keeping them with spare parts sales. Those sales
and support operations stayed in North Carolina, while manufacturing and
distribution stayed in Cleveland.

Barudan continued producing a high-speed zigzag stitch machine with the
"Meistergram" label until 2000. That machine was later improved upon and is
now our popular B2000 machine.

Meistergram machines are very durable. We have customers that have machines
that are still running after 15, 20, 25 years.

Because Meistergram machines are all zigzag stitch machines, they used a
proprietary format. Other formats will not work with the Meistergram
machine because they are for straight-stitch machines (the needle just going
up and down), which the Meistergram machines are obviously not. The designs
for a Meistergram machine are not traditional embroidery designs. While
there are stock designs and fonts available for this line of machine, they
are not compatible with other formats.

Macpherson Meistergram's Web site is http://www.mac-meister.com

As for the disk/file format, I am told that it is a proprietary format and
is unique to the Meistergram machine. Files created in this format must use
disks that have been formatted for use on a Meistergram machine (you would
format them on the machine the same way you would format a DOS disk on your
computer) and cannot be read on a standard PC. Maybe one of the contacts
above may be able to help you better.

It is Meistergram 900 XLC. Yes it is an old machine but does beautiful work. The designer used to live at 391 Oak Haven Dr, Lexington, SC. I guess she moved to somewhere.
