Hi group!

I was going to purchase 2 different embroidery machines from The Crafty
Stitcher in Las Vegas Nevada. I had contacted the owner "George" he ran a
credit check to finance the purchase and it failed. He called me at work
and said that the ups man
was there and asked for my credit card number over the phone, I would not
give him that. I asked him if he would accept a check by overnight ups, he
said yes I will still ship your machine since you are sending me acheck. I
have a relative who works for ups they checked the crafty stitchers address
to see that he never shipped my machines to me. I called the Crafty
Stitcher to see if "George" would fess up, he never did so I purchased the
machines else where .

Being lied to is not the real issue, a family member called to see if
I had purchased my machines from him, he released my credit info to her. He
also told her that I did not purchase from him. This caused a terrible
fight between she and I. My point is where is my privacy in this matter?
So if you like your personal information being given to anyone, purchase
from the Crafty Stitcher in Las Vegas Nevada.

No doubt my reply is moot - for several reasons. The first is that the above was written in 2001 - and it's now 2017. I purchased a new machine The Crafty Stitcher, and yes, I dealt with George, the owner. The Crafty Stitcher was one of the early online sellers of sewing - particularly embroidery - machines, and one of the best, and most competitive.
I don't grasp the complaint/s --- it's not likely anyone is going to ship any merchandise without being paid first. IDK what 'confession' George was supposed to make - oh,yeah, I did NOT ship TWO machines because the buyer's application for credit was denied, and then they did not/would not pay me directly. Unless those 'relatives' had a crystal ball they wouldn't have known about any interaction between supposed buyer and ANY seller - unless buyer told them 'who.'
I would be interested in purchasing another machine from CS -- but for some reason I think they're no longer in business. And all the more reason, IMO, to not let owner's character be maligned like this.
