Thanks
If the voltage and the connection are the same for both the Sega Game Gear
as for the Sega Megadrive then it won't be a problem. The only problem
could be the polarity but i assume that the information about the polarity
is
available on the Sega Game Gear casing. You could also use a universal
adapter (the one where you can switch voltages between 3 and 12 volts)
which has those exchangable connectors so you can use it for devices with
different pins and/or polarity. I use one with my Sega Megadrive. Although
the Sega Megadrive requires 10 volts instead of the 9 volts the universal
adapter provides it works fine here.
Gtx,
Yep, a UK (or any other non-US) Game Gear works fine with the Mega
Drive 1 power supply. But as Mistralle says, a universal adapter
(300mA or above) works just as well. If you use one of those, make
sure you set "centre negative" polarity and 9 volt output.

Thanks for the information so far,
I've just read that a Game Gear works fine on the adaptor from a
Master System 1 or 2, and Mega Drive 1. However I only have a Mega
Drive 2.
I have observed that the MD2 runs on 9 volts, and an mA of 850,
thereby fitting thee criteria you mentioned. But, I don't want to
sound too moronic, but I'm not actually sure what Polarity is, in this
connection. There is a symbol on the adaptor which seems show a + and
a - connected with a circle in between. The circle comes from the +
side, and is surrounded by a circle from the - side.
I don&'t think I've got a universal adaptor lying around.
Worse come to the worse, I'll just have to pick up a whole bunch or
rechargeable batteries, which won't really be a problem.
I know I'm beating around the bush, but I am quite anxious not to fry
my Game Gear when I finally get it.
Thanks in a advance
