I have chosen to park my USENET butt over here. Let me outline a few of the
posting rules I have for the group:

1. NO CROSSPOSTING. Crossposts waste bandwidth and are annoying as hell to
members of other groups. If you want to move a post from here to another
group, do it by cutting and pasting and label it a REPOST.

2. ADVERTISING POLICY. Free speech, as long as you don't clog the group up
with "excessive" advertising, as in more than three posts per week promoting
the same site or product. Ads do not need to be labelled as such, though it's
a nice thing to do. As a rule, I will promote my books usually 1-2 times per
week.

3. "SIGNATURE SPAM." Signature spam, or listing your website in your
signature, is permitted, as long as the primary purpose of your post is not to
put your signature spam into the group.

4. FLAMING. Flame away, but beware that defamation laws do apply to the
internet.

5. ON-TOPIC. No such thing. This is a free country, although the primary
purpose of the group is the Seduction Library Methods.

6. ANONYMOUS FLAMES. Group members are encouraged to dismiss the flamers who
lack the courage to reveal their identity. Anonymous posters should be judged
on the basis of their ideas, not their character or lack thereof.

7. GAMBLING AND HYPNOSIS QUESTIONS. Until they give me alt.ray-gordon as a
group, I'm stuck with this one, so anyone who has questions there should also
post them here (but not cross-post them).

8. THINGS NOT COVERED HERE. As situations arise, those things will be dealt
with by me.

I didn't know that you could change the charter of an alt group after
it had already been created.

PROPOSAL:
alt.seduction.outfoxing

COMMENTS:
alt.seduction.outfoxing would be an unmoderated discussion forum in
the existing
alt.seduction hierarchy.

FOR YOUR NEWSGROUP FILE:
alt.seduction.outfoxing Topics related to the book "Outfoxing the
Foxes"

CHARTER:
alt.seduction.outfoxing would be a place to discuss the topics and
issues
set forth in the book, as well as a place where fans and/or customers
can
learn about the book, where to order it, and discuss their opinions of
the
book as well as the results of using the information contained in the
book.

JUSTIFICATION of READERSHIP:
This newsgroup would do a great service to several groups. Currently
the
conversations regarding this book are taking place in groups where
they are
disruptive and off-topic. A dejanews search turns up exactly 3715
matches for
"outfoxing the foxes" in the past 6 months (8-1-98/4-1-99) to groups
like
alt.seduction.fast, alt.romance, soc.singles, and soc.men. A search
for
the url of the book's web page alone, turns up 996 posts in the past 6
moths. None of these groups consider the material to be on-topic. In
fact, in asf and soc.singles it is considered spam. Creating the
group
alt.seduction.foxhunting would help clear some of the unwanted
material
out of groups where these posts currently are being posted. Plus it
would
give those who are interested in the book a place to talk about it
without
disrupting other groups.

discussed in alt.config : april, 1999

conclusion : justified newgroup

I just did. I consider my charter legally binding. It's my group, my book
it's about, end of story.

Either that or I'd have to go back to posting in the other groups, and I'm not
about to do that.
