It's interesting... I have a completely opposite mentality. If they do
not want me with my guns somewhere, why live there?
<-------I don't. I live in big cities that give long prison terms to
people who break the stringent gun laws. One thing I liked about NYC was
that it was relatively gun-free, and if you factor out the high-crime
pockets, it is actually an amazingly safe city. Still a hellhole, but
safe.
In America, it is basically invariable that places with the most gun
control are the most disgusting, mistrustful, overcrowded areas full of
criminals, thieves and liars, people I have no desire to associate with.
Usually ruled by rabid "do-gooders" control freaks.
<-------That's more because they are big-cities with large poverty
pockets, many of whom were given bus and train tickets from the suburbs.
Crime is a function of poverty; poverty a function of lack of
opportunity, which is another reason I fight discrimination.
There are two easy criteria how to recognize a good place: it should have
a) little gun control
b) at gas stations, you can pump gasoline first and pay later.
<------I agree with neither. Car-friendly places are awful and have no
spirit. It's like living in a bad hotel....with no service....forever.
I do realize that England is different, and I cannot extrapolate my
American experience to the rest of the world, but still my observations
have some value.
<--------England is a very dignified place. Most English-speaking people
can do just fine there. But you have to wonder.....personally I think
British law is almost fascist (guilty until proven innocent?), their
libel laws are quite oppressive, and their homeland is not much to write
home about. I also know that Brits love their tradition and land, and
since they live there and not me that's not a problem.
The odds that an American will be killed by a maniac with a gun are quite
small. Insignificant almost, though recent events might have you believe
otherwise. Even if you had super-strict gun control here, you would
still have the same problems because the criminals would still be able to
get guns. You'd only be punishing law-abiding citizens. Finally, there
is the issue of why our existing gun laws are so weakly enforced. You'd
think that a public clamoring for these laws would ensure that they are
actually used. In many cases they are not because reporting the true
crime rate looks bad statisically, especially if every jurisdiction you
are competing against is cheating as well (I do not know if anyone
actually cheats but this could be a problem and has been said to be a
problem by those who argue these things).
With all due respect, if you could drop this newsgroup from your reply
lists, I would appreciate it. If not, feel free to enjoy your speech
rights but that is how I feel.

A better question might be, why is this gun control argument the only
traffic in your group? What happened to the legions of adoring fans you
claimed to have? You know the one who lurked in ASF because AOL could
not access this group. Yet not that AOL has access they still aren't
posting. Why is that ray?
I mean I made you a newsgroup for them so you could share your ideas
somewhere other than ASF. Yet rather than use this group, you continue
to post spam to ASF. Clearly you either feel your customers are less
important than spaming and flaming in ASF, or you know damn good and well
that ASF is where the action is because speed seduction is a superior
product. You know there is next to nobody here, because outfoxing
sucks. So you continue to spam and flame in ASF because that's the only
place you have a chance in hell of reaching somebody who might be
uninformed enough to actually lay out 30 bucks for that hunk of shit you
call a book.
If you had any faith in your product, you'd not have to be spaming up ASF
with adds for it. You clearly are not able to let your products stand
alone. You have to ride ross' coat tails to get anywhere. Nobody would
know who you were if you were not flaming and spaming in ASF.
FOAD parasite.
