Hello,

I was able to purchase a keepsafer Plus SSD wireless security system
demo unit from a home store that was going out of business. After
getting the thing home I realized that it is in some sort of demo mode
and the learn function to register new wireless sensors is disabled. I
took it apart expecting to find a demo dip switch and nothing. I also
searched for any jumpers that looked like they are "after the fact" and
nothing. Everything on the board looks like it is present and
the unit functions as advertised with the wireless sensors that were on
the demo display so I believe the unit is complete.

If anyone has some "inside info" on this product please let me know what
I get do to make it fully functional. A instruction manual would also
be nice :)

Thanks
- Dan

If you used a credit card to make the purchase, notify the bank
immediately that you have been hood winked. It will take a while --
perhaps as much as 60 days or more. But you will get your money back.
If you wrote a check or paid cash, you're probably out of luck.

Hi,

Please explain? This is a going out of business sale and I got the unit
for $30. Are saying that this is not fully functional unit and there is
no way to get it out of demo mode?

Some manufacturers make 'Demo only' products. Hopefully that is not the
case.

Well the only thing I can think of is it may be from a company called
LINEAR, they have several SSD models although I haven't heard of that model

Linear made the unit, but they probably won't answer any questions. I had a
subscriber a couple years back that had one in a houe he just bought, but gave
up on it when he (and I) could not get any information out of either Linear or
Schlage. Needless to say, the Keepsafer system was replaced with a new Ademco
system.

One thing to watch on Keepsafer systems: the batteries are not supervised, so
if they fail you won't know it unless you check them. Make sure you check each
sensor every week, or at least once a month.
