There are software programs to configure and diagnose the system. Paradox
does not offer SW to interface the Esprit to a PC in the manner you
describe. You will need third party software for this. Homeseer is one of
the more popular PC-to-alarm software packages. Last I looked it was
selling for about $100.

NOTE: I'll need to confirm with Paradox what information is sent out via
the serial port connection.

Ok.

> 3. do u have experience of false alarms using esprit that NX-6???

Both Paradox and Caddx are reliable brands with solid reputations. The
panels themselves are rarely the cause of false alarms.

If you are an experienced developer, it's not a daunting task. There is a
lot of work to creating something slick and commercial but you should be
able to cobble together a personal use system fairly easily.

It's a useful tool.

> could someone hack in to the panel and mess it up???

Not likely. You can set the security access code. A hacker would have to
make thousands of phone calls, each lasting a minute or more, before getting
in. There are far easier, faster ways to defeat a security system.

That's hard to tell. I don't know what the duties are in Greece or what
local companies would charge you.

I'll get them for you on Monday.

No problem.

I don't know. There's a message board at Homeseer.com where users share all
kinds of information. Also, the author gives excellent tech support. It's
possible that a plug-in is needed.
