There are still plenty of options. I do business with both firms. I've been
buying from KingAlarm since Glen could stiill be found at the counter back in
Nyack. That place was some humble beginning. He had an idea, drive and a decent
attitude. He built an honest business that eventually eclipsed most of his peers.
My biggest concern is what will happen to the staff. Lynette at King's Hackensack
office is and always will be the best in the business. I hope Pittway treats the
staff as well as King has over the years. They'd lose King's best asset if they
let them go.

Heh heh heh. I wonder what happened to that Klansman with his Z1100. I can just
picture a group of idiots in white sheets stomping the Moose LSI chip into the
dust with a cross burning in the background.

Such as having a parts system that can find me a device in-stock from
California to New Jersey, and get it out overnight. We found a fairly
obscure Sony part (Rack mount for an EVT820) in New Jersey today. The
systems group is very helpful, a resource ASI could not afford to
maintain. I am content with ADI so far.

ADI's national network of warehouses works to our benefit as well. In order
to keep UPS costs down, they drop ship my clients' orders from the warehouse
nearest the destination. We sometimes get clients orders at their door in
24 hours via UPS Ground service even at the other end of the country.

If memory serves me correctly Glen got his start in this business working for Remlin
Products in Hasbrouck heights, New Jersey.
