Hi

Have recently aquired a Series 3000 Alarm Panel
made by Modern Alarms. Upon powering up the
Panel, the fault light flashes and displays a 4
on the LED Display. This is a second hand unit,
I have tied all anti-tamper circuits down, but
there are some unfamiliar connections on the
board, that used to have cables connected to
them, but obviously when the alarm was removed
the cables were cut. These were standard alarm
cables, nothing vital to the internal workings of
the alarm.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Or
point me in the direction of where I can get a
manual for it?

Kind Regards
Chris Priest

Is there any way you can us a picture so we can see if it is just a standard
alarm that has been custom labeled?

It's definately an own brand, the PCB is stamped with 'Modern Alarms'
and the case is etched with their logo.

Series 3000 were produced by Scantronic for Modern.
Some were produced by ATG who were later acquired by Scantronic.
All are old products
The series included:-
3000 -- Scantronic 9200 (I think)
3100 -- Scantronic 9600
3200 -- Scantronic 9800

A 4 fault is a mains fault - total power failure. Should reset of the
customer code- or try the fuses on the power pcb which is located tucked
away behind the keypad.

The system is essentially the same as a scantronic 9100 but vary's slightly
in the PCB layouts.

Alternatively try ADT they brought Modern Alarms you will find them in the
yellow pages and will offer a good service and get it working properly for
you.

It is 100% a badged Scantronic 9100 with different main board and power
supply.
Fault 4 is nothing to worry about because this will always come up on total
power failure and will quickly clear once the system is reset.
Presumebly you have a user code and an engineer code would be quite handy as
well.
The panel defaults very very easily but it would be not appropiate to tell
you how on here !!
What part of the UK are you in? Let me know and I can suggest a company for
you.
My company is based in South West England.

I believe the above is the correct relationship
