I wonder if there is anyone willing to help me find out a bit more
about an alarm-system I found at work about to be thrown away.
It is a Swedish alarm but it is made by Pittway, it is a white metal
cabinet approx 12"x12" with a backup lead battery and a PCB with a an
IC that says
4100 SW V10.0
4744 F 16
(C)PITTWAY CORP 95
PCB design is (c) PITTWAY 1991
There are two jumpers on the PCP; "ÅTERST." and "MINNE" which in
swedish means reset and memory. After shorting reset, the code is
1111.
It is controlled by a keypad connected by eight wires and the keypad
has one green LED-digit showing the status.

If you know anything about this alarm, above all, how to change the
code/s from 1111 or if you have a users/installation manual for this
or a similar model, please get in touch with me!

The following is just some random information that may shed some light on your
inquiry:
I'm not really sure about this but I don't think that "Pittway" ever made any
kind of an alarm system. I'm also not exactly sure about the accuracy of the
following, but it's something like ...... Pittway, here in the U.S.A. was the
almost defunct Pittsburg Railway Co. that was purchased by the Harrison family
many years ago. One of the companies that they purchased under the name of
Pittway, was a small company by the name of Alarm Device Manufacturing Co.
ADEMCO, that was founded by Murice Coleman, originating out of his electrical
supply company, called Progressive Electric Co. Ademco sold alarm equipment and
eventually began manufacturing their own parts. The joining of the organization
by Nat Verger and the development and marketing of the # 39 magnetic contact
helped boost the company sales and reputation so that it was noticied by
Pittway.
If the device that you have was, in fact associated with the U.S.A Pittway, I
would think that it was made by ADEMCO but perhaps because it was made for
distribution out side the USA, it may have had to been labeled with Pittway
rather than ADEMCO. I'm not familiar with how these things are negotiated
between countries. I would think that it is some version of an ADEMCO product
which some one else here may be familiar with.
