Hi I am looking for a new Battery tester for Alarm Panel Batteries
as well as for Emergency Light batteries. I havr read alot about the
ELK model. What are the others out there? I found one made by Triplett
Chek-A-Cell they are only 69.00 I am guessing the Triplett one is not
so great? Anybody ever use the Triplett one? ThAnKs!

Never saw the need for one. We keep records of when batteries are replaced
for all our systems and we know that batteries last 3-5 years (mostly 3
these days) so when the panel sends it's first low battery...duh...it needs
to be replaced pretty darn quick.

You can save yourself some money by buying a 10 ohm 50 watt wire wound
resistor. Solder a couple of clip leads to it.

Remove the panel battery leads from the battery to be tested. Attach
your volt meter to the battery terminals and take note of the reading.
it should be 12 volts or higher. With the meter still attached to the
terminals, attach the clip leads from the 10 ohm resistor. Watch the
reading of the voltmeter. If the battery voltage goes below 12 volts
prior to two or three minutes with this hook up, change the battery.
If not, your good for now.

Watch out ..... the resistor is HOT.

Canadian Tire sells a VOM with integral battery tester (it does up to 12
volts). It's intended towards the automotive market, but I found the
unit to be well worth the $20.00 (CDN).

I have the tripplite one and it works very well and is very useful becsuse
it does 6 volts which most of the others do not. not as sophisticated as the
others but it does what it advertises and has saved me numerous trips .

Some people use the changing of a battery as a reason to touch base
with their clients.

I send out my newsletters regularly and follow up on false alarms via
telephone, which seems to do that very thing. I usually drop ship
batteries ..... many times at no charge, just to avoid the waste of
time and having to charge an exorbitant amount of money for a service
call just to change a $16.00 battery.

You shouldn't be inviting any guests over.

The death of the host almost always ends the party.

Mmmmm but ...... probably not .....in your case.

Too late. We had over 80 friends over for my
birthday party (which had been delayed). A
few weeks ago we had a smaller get together
-- only about 65 people. Our next event is in
September. We'll have about 120 people for
that one. Why don'y you come join us? You
can save all your paychecks between now and
then and splurge on a bus ticket.

> The death of the host almost always ends
> the party.

Happy to disappoint you on that one. Odds are
I'll be here at least 20 years after you're gone,
based on your advanced age and all the nasty
chemicals you generate in your system with all
that anger. It's a shame, really. Like another
vicious individual who spent all his time spewing
rage, you'll probably stroke out, right in the
middle of one of your tantrums.

> Mmmmm but ...... probably not .....in your case.

Unlike you, I don't wish death or illness on anyone,
not even you. Then again, I didn't wish ill for
Mike Sabodish either. He died from his own rage.
In all probability so will you. Do you notice anyone
saying they miss him? The funny thing is any time
I don't post for a few days several people post that
they miss my input. Yet when you go away no one
seems to notice or, if they do notice, they don't
seem to care.

You rant and rave for years, railing not only against
me but even against others whose only failing is
their refusal to post the same sort of abuse. All
you've managed to do is make yourself look like a
ranting, old fool. That's unfortunate because deep
down, under all that insane hatred, there's probably...
Hmm. Naah. :^)

Have a nice day.

ADI website says they no longer drop ship batteries. Do you do it
yourself?

Owwweeee, wowweee. You sure are eager to impress
everyone. Can't wait for you to tell us when your going
on vacation again. Could be your last eh? Could be you
don't get to go too.

and unimpressive piece of shit you are.

Oh who the fuck are you trying to kid besides yourself.
Within the next 5 years you're going to have a reoccurrence
and it'll likely be fatal. It usually reoccurs as brain cancer.
Which, in your case wont take long to kill you.

> It's a shame, really. Like another

Well, dream on you fat dead asshole. You're just
a hobby with me. Rage? in your dreams. You're
just the nasty bastard in the neighborhood that
I make it habit to torment as much as I can. Such
a deserving fuck like you just needs to be reminded
as often as possible that you can't be abusive and hateful
to anyone you please and just act as if you're an
innocent victim. You're a foul, loathsome and spiteful
degenerate and you deserve anything and everything
bad that can happen to you. Your death can't come
soon enough to cleanse this planet.

Oh Reallly?? Would you like to produce some of those
posts? Just for the hell of it. Let's just see how many
people are going to miss you when you take that last
painful gasping breath that you know is coming sooner
than later.

How you you know that I go away? There's hardly ever
a time that I don't have access to posting here.
But, then again, I don't feel that I've got to impress
anyone with the fact that I'm going to go on vacation.
Actually, I go away quite often ..... because I can. But
it's no business of you are anyone here. Unlike you,
who's got to let everyone know that you've saved up
enough money to go someplace.

> You rant and rave for years, railing not only against
> me but even against others whose only failing is
> their refusal to post the same sort of abuse.

Nope. You're just being your old myopic self again.

You're a nasty son of a bitch.
I'm just nastier than you are.
If someone doesn't like what I do and complains ....
They'd damn well better be complaining about you too.
Simple as that. You should understand "simple". You're
so good at it yourself.

> All
> you've managed to do is make yourself look like a

Ahh ..... dead boy, As I've said. It's not hated. It's just
retribution. You deserve reprisal for being the nastiest
most vile fuck I've ever come across. That's all. It's no
trouble for me at all, to continuously remind you of what
you are and what you've done to people.

>
> Have a nice day.

I have a nice day every day. You, unfortunately have
numbered days. But thank you for helping me enjoy
reminding you of your impending demise.

Ah ...... Jeeeeze. Your so easy. You've done so many
bad things to so many people so often and it's all recorded
here for anyone to see. It's just a hoot to watch you not
respond, when some of your bad conduct is dredged up
from Usenet.

Tooodles dead man.

YOU have a nice day. It could be your last.

Wasn't it *you* that hoped he'd "pop a vessel in his head"? Wasn't it
you that coined the phrase "drop dead and on the way down hit your
head"? You are a liar, Bass.

Really? I didn't know you and Mike were on such intimate terms.

If you recall, when Mike first stopped posting several people commented
on it. I don't "miss" your input when you do go. When you don't post
for a few weeks (knowing that you're in bad health) I figure you're
either too sick or dead. Your long absences don't really impact the
Group as much as you like to think (other than the fact that it becomes
much more pleasant around here). We certainly won't "miss" you when
your boss finally decides he needs your expertise to install some access
control and CCTV equipment. Does ADI drop ship to Hell??

Do you really think any cares how many people attend your party, how
successful you are or when and where you spend your holidays?

If you were really happy with your life and that's a big if, you would
simply live it and enjoy it, the fact that you feel it necessary to
constantly brag to the group about how great your life is, is a sure sign
that it isn't.

As to your belief that people must miss your input after you haven't posted
for a few days, that's just further confirmation that you suffer from a
Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
