Since Honeywell owns Ademco and actually competes with "all" of the alarm
professionals here, what is your reaction to the change if any. Napco pulled
its products away from honey well citing that a conflict of interests was a
primary concern as their product was not being pushed by ADI but rather
honeywell was being pushed more then Napco. Any other manufacterer's follow
suit? Who is now selling Napco products? I don't use Napco but I may someday
down the road.

Systems Depot & Silmar Electronics both sell Napco. If they are not located
in your state, you can purchase them online. I recently spoke to my local
branches, it seems local Napco distributors have seen 300% increased sales
on all Napco products since the announcment.

ADI is going down hill fast. They seem to piss everybody off these days.

My Napco distributors are delighted. It didn't affect me at all as I have
been getting Napco at other distributors for years. I only rarely bought
Napco from ADI. I get tons of Caddx and Ademco from them. A while back ADI
was trying to get ITI but that fell through. I suspect the problem with
Napco and other manufacturers had more to do with ADI's curmudgeonly tactics
in dealing with vendors.

Maybe we could assign Jiminex to curse at them.

Unfortunatly it seems more and more that once a manufacturer puts out
a good product for the industry and it catches on, it will not be long
till they are bought out by one our competitors...

Napco made a good move (till Honeywell buys them...)

I wouldn't be too worried. All you'll ever need is the Internet and a Credit
Card to stock your shelves. The units are counted by the sales force, not
the actual dealer who sells their product. You'll be safe....

As far as I know in the Dallas/FT Worth area Alarm Express is now the only
dealer of Napco so unless someone else has picked up the line the
distribution for that product here has been cut in half. The problem I
suspect is while many areas have other dealers they can turn to many other
areas don't

Like it or not ADI is a massive chain and I see this as hurting Napco in the
short term

I think Texas is pretty well covered. We can use more Napco distributors
here in Florida.

Biggest problem tho from what I see is ADI seems to have the most inventory
of anything else I've seen in the area and panels aren't the only thing a
dealer will pick up
