Dpon NetMedia introduces its DPON (Digital Pictures on Network) remote
security and management device.
The DP200 automatic encoding unit, capable of viewing up to six cameras
simultaneously, allows anyone with an internet connection to remotely
view their home, business or loved ones 24 hours a day, seven days a
week anywhere in the world. This innovative product is the first of
its kind in the marketplace.
The DPON DP200 capture device is about the size of an encyclopedia and
can have six cameras connected to it. When logged on to the DPON
server, users may view real-time video at 10 frames per second. Our
exclusive I-Live View Camera Server is designed for Internet video
broadcasting. Viewed as a web page on popular browsers such as
Microsoft Internet Browser or Netscape Navigator, it is possible to
view up to six live pictures simultaneously. Users must have a
password in order to view their cameras, providing protection from
uninvited viewers. For users who have more stringent demands, it is
possible to view the cameras over a private telephone line or on their
own intranet system using the DPON Camera Server and OYO Viewer. On
the receiving end it takes only minutes to download the viewing
software that makes this modern miracle a reality.
The benefits of this system are many. For companies who already have a
video security system, they can now look in while on vacation or on
business trips. Existing cameras can be connected to the DPON with
ordinary video cables and the pictures will appear on the DPON Server
in mere minutes. Imagine being able to look in on your children while
at work—even if you are on the road traveling. Or if you wish to keep
an eye on your place of business, it is possible to view your factory
or store from your home or anywhere where you can make a telephone
connection. But that’s not all! It is possible to actuate zoom, pan
and tilt controls from the remote viewing site as well as operate
electrical devices such as lights or air conditioning. Also, it is
possible to record the happenings of remotely connected sites onto your
local computer hard drive—all for the cost of a good quality projection
TV receiver. These are just a few of the features that make this the
hottest new security item of the Third Millennium. Later this year a
newer better DPON will debut that features real-time audio
transmission, 30 frames per second streaming and the ability to connect
up to eight cameras.
This system is easily installed by users with some electro-mechanical
ability. A typical time for set-up and implementation of the system is
3 hours.
