Unfortunately, I know of no way to do what you're wishing to do. In
addition, you will not be able to just "dial-in" to the panel, you will
need radionics proprietary software to program the panel, even if you
manage to get in.
The newer radionics programming tool (D5200) will program this
panel...it looks like a simple little laptop..and doesn't require the
barcode sheets like the 5100.
So...with a little luck, you may be able to find a local installer who's
willing to make a buck or two...
Good Luck

He's quite right. And you may not even be able to get into the panel
at all, even if you have the right programmer. Take a look at the
serial number on the board, and see if there's an "L" at the end.
If so, you have a "Datalocked" 6112, which means that a lock code
in the panel must match a lock code stored in the programmer before
the programmer will even talk to the panel. This also applies for
dial-up access.

If you don't have the "L" at the end, you will still need a 5100 or
5200 programmer to reprogram the system. Even on a non-Datalock
panel, there is still a remote access code loaded into the system
which must match up, and which varies from panel to panel. That's
assuming your panel even has remote programming enabled--some
installers don't turn this feature on.

I do not know how to default the panel without a programmer, but
even if you did, you'd still need a programmer to make it work again.

So:

1. If it's Datalocked, toss it
2. If it's not Datalocked, locate a Radionics installer and borrow a
programmer. It's still a bit of a nasty panel to program if you've
never done one before, and considering it's over ten years old, it
may not be worth the learning curve.

The 6112 is a very nice panel, If I remember right, you cannot up/down
load the programming. I may be wrong, it's been several years since I've
used Radionics panels. The programmer for all Radionics panels run about
$100 so if you diden't pay too much for the 6112 you may consider that
route.

Top of the afternoon Marty
Having been around Radionics for many years I know the 6112 all too well. There
is no "default program" for that unit. If the cu was set up at time of
installation with the 5100 or newer 5200 (may be a 100 off on model numbers could
be 5200 and 5300) you could remote program with RAM software from Radionics. The
panel requires a pass code that is sent from RAM. There are several other lines
of programing that need to be programed. The only user programing is the ability
to change an existing user code. You had to KNOW the existing code inorder to
change it and the first number could not be changed.
I don't know if any of this helps you or not.

The 6112 has always been remotely programmable, but you do have to
set it up that way.

The programmer for all Radionics panels run about

I wish. 5200 programmers cost a hell of a lot more than that.

You have the option of loading Radx defaults either with the 5100, 5200 or
Ram II (with dongle)- ie Default programme!

Ifyou have no access to the above mentioned do not waste you time.

And whoever has a 5200 for $100 i will have ten

The 6112 will NOT keypad program. You can get in via downloading, but ONLY with
Radionic's software and modem. You won't be able to buy them. The only way to get
in is with the bar-code programmer (model 5100). They're not made any more, so
alarm companies may not sell them. Radionics has a distribution center in
Australia, so they must have dealers there. Have you considered a service call?

True, plus you'd need the panel's remote access code to gain access, anyway.

Actually, the replacement for the 5100 programmer, the 5200, will program
6112s just fine.

I have got the Banksia 1200 modem to work, also have used a GVC on the
2000-9000 series panels (call me a smart arse) and someone would probably
give you the software if you asked nicely - (Not Me) but you will have to
find your own "dongle" for the parallel port on the P.C oh yeah the
LOCKCODES need to be the same and the TEMPORARY passwords should a match as
well - good luck!
