[I joined, and got the handsome certificate (suitable for framing). What
happens now? Is there a newsletter, or any other benefits of membership,
aside from having other lifecasters rush to my support when I'm attacked by
a critic or somebody? Any fabulous parties with gorgeous nude models in
attendance (dream on...)]

That party was at my studio, sorry you missed it. It got pretty wild. Anybody
says lifecasting isn't art, you tell us their name, in pig latin. And what route
their kids go to school.
When Ed straightens his situation out, we should get moving a bit faster.
Promotion, articles on technique and safety, maybe videos.
I still haven't seen a statue of your'n with l'casting as a component. May need
to perform an executive action on your ass.
Visit the sites of all members to learn how wide our scope is. The newsletter
consists of the alimailograms so far.

[Actually, I (Rewanday Erbyway) don't think that life-casting, by itself, is
art, any more than, say, photography is, or the application of paint to a
wall, for that matter. Art is what you do with the technique, not the
technique itself. You could build a machine that takes a molds of people,
and pours in plaster- would all the castings it made be pieces of art? Not
unless you got an artist to claim they were...]

strange characters in his e-mail? ]

[That would be great. I got a message from Ed responding to the question I
raised, which I would quote except that it's so messed up. Essentially, the
organization will be whatever we make of it, which is fair enough, I
suppose.]

[Check out http://users.lanminds.com/~drewid/Cast_Paint_Reliefs.html It's
got some human life-castings and some dog ones too. And don't vegetables
count as life-castings, if they're fresh when you pull the mold? Where's the
term defined, anyway? If you mold a cliff-face, isn't that the "living
rock"? Do you let people in who do death-castings?]

Deathmasks, sure. Vegetables? you pervert!! As for fish, that's taxidermy,
an art which needs no help from us.
