I have 3 50 cc scooters and they all have burned out headlights. One is
a 1981 Honda Nx50,1982 Honda Urban Express and a Suzuki FA 50,they all
of a sudden get bright then burn out. I really need the NX50 headlight
if anyone has one. Rustin

Not an uncommon thing, all filament lights burn out eventually. Switch off
your lights before switching on your ignition, you may get a longer life out
of them.

I have some Yamaha and Honda scooter sealed beams
that may work. Otherwise if you're handy, you should
be able to unsolder the old bulb and stick in a new one.
A well-stocked auto parts store should have a new bulb.

Maybe some sort of wiring problem or a bad voltage regulator. loose or
corroded wire to the regulator can cause a sudden voltage spike. I
would check the elctrical system if this keeps happening.

Phyllis,on a Honda Express and others too you MUST have a battery in
the bike at all times or the headlights will burn out.You see that
this means if you get a bad battery connection and you don't realize
it......THERE GOES THE HEADLIGHT !!So check all connections. I'll be
offline for a few days but I'd like to hear what you have found out.
See ya! Don-ohio (:^)
