Hi
Someone told me about a way to tune the Suzuki burgman 400 for getting 5HP
extra.
I do not have the details, does anyone know about this, and maybe have tried
it. (so I dont have to experiment on my own scooter)

Any info i welcome !

1. Fit the Malossi CVT variator
2. Fit the Gianelli exhaust
3. For the more extreme, remove the airbox cover and rejet.

The first one holds the revs higher at mid speeds where the engine is
making 5-10bhp more than it would with the standard CVT. The exhaust is
not much louder, EU approved and much lighter. If you try the third, let
me know!

Yoshi do an exhaust?

This was probably the Malossi variator kit. It holds the revs at a point
where there is between 5 and 10 hp extra in the mid range. People who've
fitted one seem to like it although one person has complained it makes
it all a bit frantic under hard acceleration.

Gianelli do an exhaust which is a bit free-er flowing but fully legal in
the EU. There's some potential to open up the airbox too. There may well
be 2-4 hp waiting to be freed up.

Yes. And with the 250 Malossi kit, you don't need to change the spring
which is a major PITA on the 400.

Yes !

But's if it's available in the UK or the Continent is another story but the DO
make.. a more "square" thingy than the original..

Fiddling with the airbox is not a good idea if you not are an expert.. the
airbox functions as a muffler as well and "opening" it means u need rejetting,
dyno and tha whole mess..

4 strokes, CV carbs and airbox mods can be a real minefield. But
personally I've done this a couple of times on different bikes and been
able to get the jetting near enough just by raising the needle a notch
(or putting a washer underneath) and going up one or two sizes on the
mainjet. I've tried the Burger with no airbox cover and it's pretty
noisy. But I'm going to try removing the intake tube to the airbox and
see what happens. I won't be surprised if it just goes back in again.
