I have the same problem, so I'll have to try some of these out and see
if they help.

I sanded the paint off the bottom of my frame, slathered some Elmers
Carpenters Glue onto the magnet and slapped it on.
That was 5 years ago, the magnet is still there, the lights get triggered
IF I pull up over the cut in the road where the sensor wire is.

Instead of spending money on 'fixes', I've taken to calling the governmental
agency that is responsible for the intersection. Call them and let them
know that their sensors are defective as they do not respond to your legally
licensed, tax paying vehicle. Sometimes it takes two or three calls, but if
you get squeaky enough, the powers that be will eventually fix it to get rid
of the annoyance.
Another solution is what some bicycle riders will do, turn right, make a U
turn, then turn right again. Obviously that only works in some situations.
Others have reported that they have run the red light when it is safe to do
so. That works 100% of the time (that you don't get caught by law
enforcement). If you DO get stopped by a LEO, then it is an grand time to
tell the JUDGE of the problem with the city's/county's/state's signal
sensors.
On my Honda Reflex I usually stop over a corner of the cut. Sometimes I
will reach back with my left foot and drop my center stand. And I've also
stopped and started my engine. All of these seem to work.

yes. look at the road, and position your scooter over one of the lines
parallel to the direction of travel. if its a circle, aim for one side
of the circle or the other. i can trip about 95% of the lights on my
B400 this way. before, it was hit or miss.
i can even extend the time the arrow stays yellow if im in a line of
cars, by aiming for the sensor wire.
any magnet thats strong enough should work just fine.
hm. how about making a strong electromagnet that operates off 12v, with
a momentary contact switch near the handlebars.... hmmmmmm.
ive gone through them in the wee night hours. if theres *nobody* around,
that means there isnt a cop around :)
OTOH, most often, i turn righht, then find aplace to make a left u-turn.
same difference, but more legal.
i didnt know carpenters glue can stick metal to metal. id probably wrap
some duct tape around the works instead.

magnets arent snake oil. theyre just magnets. and in theory, a magnet
thats strong enough should help trip the sensor.
Except in places where there's no legal right turn on a red like Quebec.
I am amazed by the people who design light systems that won't give a
pedestrian Walk signal unless the button is pressed--and then they stick the
button on a post 15' away from the corner where it's going to be surrounded
by mud and water on wet days, and snow banks in the winter time. Exactly
how is someone on one of those electric mobility scooters going to get to
the button and hopefully get back to the corner before the 5 second window
when the Walk is white (rather amber-flashing) is up?
All bow down before the wants and whims of King Car!

I just pull up far enough to let the car behind me trip it. If there
is no car, I wait "long enough" and go.
Check your state laws. Recently some states, including mine, changed
the law so that a scooterist or motorcyclist could, IIRC, treat a red
light like a 4-way stop if you sit there for awhile and it won't change
(and it is clear). I'm certain that the law was changed to address
this, but I could be off on the specifics of how you're supposed to get
across. I can't recall if you can go straight across or if you have to
turn right first, etc. But the laws did change in a number of states to
address this very issue. Good luck.

Magnets sold as "Green Light Triggers" and "Fuel Line Magnets" and "Feel
Good Magnets" are all snake oil.
My solution of calling the local authority only costs your time and you
correct the problem for ALL vehicles, not just yours.

I assume I could still get a ticket from an uninformed cop, but I also think
if I did it safely, a judge would find me not guilty.... I suspect a smart
cop would say, ok, but do it safely.

Fantastic.
