He would have deliberately fudged the dates, for security, if real. His

I've been watching the events are CERN closely and I await the turning
on of the accelerator this summer. I'm hoping they discover something
amazing like being able to harness antimatter as an energy source or
something!

Problem is that this project has been known about for over 15 years.
Anyone could have looked at the project time table and made some scifi
writings.
