Indonesian Motion Picture FRIEDA, atau ANTARA BUMI DAN LANGIT

Who ever saw the Indonesian motion picture FRIEDA? The central figure in
this picture was played by a mixed Dutch-Indonesian woman, who used as her
film name: Grace. What I should like to know is: what is (or was) her real
name? What happened with her in later years? Is she still alive? Has she had
children, or grand children? The other actors are: S.Bono, Sukarno, Rumanti
and Vodegel.
FRIEDA was produced and edited by a man who called himself Dr. Huyung, a
‘naturalised Korean’, but with a very Japanese name: Hinatsu Eitaro. He
reportedly died in 1952. The film script (originally a play written in 1945)
was written by the Indonesian playwrite and film historian Armijn Pané and
produced in 1950 and 1951 under the title ANTARA BUMI DAN LANGIT (Between
Earth and Heaven).
After difficulties with the Board of Indonesian Censors and protesting
groups, the producer decided to recut ABdL and released it in August 1951 in
Indonesia under its new title FRIEDA.
