To continue up to october it is by now in:
http://www.geocities.com/Eureka/Network/1679/face.html

One has to look to the NEGATIVE of the MOC (in MGS) unique image.
The POSITIVE preserves the symmetry but it looks as
a very distorted 'sort of face' with twisted mouth and broken nose
as if a big rock had fallen on it by the eye to left. We attributed
such distasteful appearance to the improper correction to orthonormal
view; because the angle of the caption was really horrendously bad.
In fact Dr. Lahoz in his last book based on apr-1998 MOC's images
(TETET-98: Generacion del Hombre en Marte; UNIAM, dec-1998) refused
to bring and comment that horrendous 'Face' image: not a single word
about the 'Face' in there except mentioning the bad 'angle' of caption.
Nor we nor anybody else among serious researchers could understand
until now that WHEN LIGHT COMES FROM EAST (MORNING-HOURS CAPTION) then
a totally different image from that taken in afternoon-hours (Viking)
was intended by the divine martian Artist; and to this end the NEGATIVE
and only the negative of spacecraft views had to be used. This is a
tremendous surprise totally unexpected because we don't have such
technical capabilities to produce sophisticated sculptures which can
encode both positive and negative projected images. But this is
definitively so: martian civilization is far away superior to us in
technique and in Art as shown in here.
About the present NEGATIVE: look the line from pointed-chin to center
between two outstanding nose-holes or nostrils to center between
eyebrows; it is a perfect straight line which does NOT go to the center
of the rectangular frame or 'shroud'; proportions are PERFECT and the
tilt of the nude-face is obvious with magnificent outline of the
mouth in such tilted position; the same goes for BOTH eyes which
certainly look as closed as 'dead' or 'sleeping'.
Hardly one can imagine a better rendition of such mega-Monument which
tightly means the artistic idealization created by artist Mr. Schuming.
Of course excellent artists as Kynthia who produced expensive paintings
and 'sculptures' of the 'Face' will have to go back to the desk and start
again. I don't know how tricky can be to produce a 3-d sculpture which
generates different set of shadows (projected at infinity, per spacecraft
captions) when light comes from right and left, but certainly it is a
technique never before seen on this planet.

As promised such Webpage is now improved: all relevant graphics are
included. Two new ones:

http://www.geocities.com/Eureka/Network/1679/HU-AST.GIF
http://www.geocities.com/Eureka/Network/1679/fface.gif

The first shows Lahoz's final guess of two more characters (up to 6
by now) in Monument "Humanoid".
The 2nd. gives good contrasts of the NEGATIVE of MOC's image about
'Face' (apr-1998).
Study, please, such new Webpage before talking nonsense about the
'Face'.

I like this web site better:
http://www.4w.com/pac/marsface.htm
At least that one has the facts without the "aliens" bias.

It is by now finished: I have incorporated in it all relevant graphics
currently available (regarding 'Face' and 'Humanoid').
'Honor onus': the honor of being first in such really not cheap task
of decoding Cydonia goes with heavy responsibility. That holds for these
two excellent artists Mr. Ruo and Mr. Shuming who have been brave and
intelligent in respective interpretations as shown in above Webpage.
As for us at UNIAM we have done our best and hope that not only the
Math encrypted in between Monuments (from TETET-92 to TETET-98), but
even these new and extremely difficult advances in understanding the
revolutionary 'Abstract Fine-Art' which Cydonia uses will soon become
accepted and understood by all researchers. We all got stuck and puzzled
by that horrendously looking shape of MOC's 'Face', but slowly we
finally got the intended martian idea and now it is clear that
'The Face' is an extraordinary and very beautiful (in Art and content)
Work in ALL currently available images. No distortions nor heavy
erosion. Just the normal little defects showing 'texture': common to all
works of 'Abstract Art', be it Van Gogh be it martian Artists:

http://www.geocities.com/Eureka/Network/1679/FACEMV.GIF

(also incorporated in above URL of new Webpage).
