Hi:

What is the highest-frequency of ultrasound that can propagate through
air on earth's atmosphere?

Thanks,

Radium

As I posted in sci.electronics.electronics.
(no one else seems to have noticed it either)
I'm not sure how far you can propogate sound (in air) in the megahertz
region.
The only graph I can find is here,
http://www.massa.com/fundamentals.htm
But, Figure 5 only goes to 240khz. The formula above it says you would have
21db of loss per foot in air. ( at 1 Mhz )

Let me ask questions on radium's behalf before he actually asks himself.

How does the highest frequency that can propagate in air taste?

How heavy is this highest frequency?

What is the molecular weight of this highest frequency?

Can there be a sound with negative frequency?

Better:

Suppose I use a hollow, air-filled tube made of CsCl to inject this
sound into my right tibia at an amplitude of exactly
3.4489354*10^(10^(10^(10^1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000)))
W/m^2. Using some sort of advanced technology, make sure that only
potassium ions are affected by this sound. All other bones in the
body should be kept from vibrating by more than 10^-1,000,000,000,000
nanometers or 10 to the negative 1,000,000,000,009 meters, except for
the left ulna. Assuming it takes me exactly 7.34623788578924352343
minutes to die, plus or minus 10^1000 hours, what would I experience?

I think a high frequency electric pulse would propagate up my spinal
cord causing me to think of ice cream. The ice cream would be blue
and salty, and then it would transform into a gray-horned alien that
would attempt to drill a hole through my right eye in order to insert
a superconducting tube into my brain holding a quantized flux of
2.934*10^100,007 webers. I lunge for the alien's white coat, but my
coefficient of friction with the floor is 0.0000000000000000000067, so
I lose my balance and fall into a pit of 10^1,000,000,000,000,000
aluminum spikes, all of which pierce my right carotid artery. This
hallucination causes my brain to go into a state of shock, and I lose
almost all consciousness, feeling nothing from that point on but a
vague sensation of a dim green light. This lasts exactly 49.23434342
seconds until my death.

This abuse report is more of a sick joke and harassment than an abuse
report. I'll have you know that Pythagoras Radium is my FULL LEGAL
NAME. If anyone knows what is the identity of this poster and how I
can launch a libel lawsuit against him for violating the copyright of
my FULL LEGAL NAME Pythagoras Radium, I would appreciate any help. It
is a sick matter of abuse when a poster is railroaded out of a
newsgroup under the pretense that it was for using their FULL LEGAL
NAME Pythagoras Radium, but in actuality for being a science genius.
I notice that the impostor Radium had nothing to add to the science
discussion, but his post was simply a harassment of me and a
railroading me out of the science newsgroups. I am awaiting the
impostor Radium's prediction of what would happen in the highly
scientific experiment described above. This newsgroup should be a
discussion of SCIENCE, not a harassment of an individual.

You don't need his name. Just file a libel lawsuit against both his ISP
and him as "John Doe". Any court is fine. Just so that he gets the
message, why not start out with the United States Supreme Court? You'll
be able to take a deposition as part of the suit, and that is how you can
get this libel artist's name.

But first you should register your copyright. This is easy and cheap.
Just call the Library of Congress, and they will tell you how. Don't let
them tell you you need a trademark, or any of that baloney. Insist that
you have a copyright in your full legal name, tell them that you are
filing a libel suit for someone using your name, and insist that they
register the copyright for you.

Let us know how you make out.

I don't understand why Pythagoras is so upset at me.

Of course, he could be just joking around. Considering his posts:

Note that the only two posts are very recent and involving using my

So, no offense, but I don't think that Pythagoras Radium is being
