Hi everybody,

I have a very simple question about the exponential distribution. My
doubt is whether it is possible for a bulb whose ageing is being
modelled with an exponential distribution "to die" at time instant 0.

I only have very basic knowledge in statistics (as you can imagine).

Thanks in advance

The probability that a continuous distribution has a particular exact
value is zero (or infinitesimal if you prefer). So this is also true
for an exponetial distribution being 0.

But for a light bulb, it is quite possible that it is broken before
the start of the experiment, which you might want to take into
account.
