I'm still running 6.13.2 here, and when I check for software updates,
I'm offered 6.13.4.0, not 6.13.6.

When I try to download it, I get an error popup that says "A
communication error has occurred".

In the packet trace, I see that Garmin's server is responding
"404 File not found" from an attempt to load "MapSource_6134.exe"

Looking directly at Garmin's Web site
(http://www8.garmin.com/support/mappingsw.jsp), the list shows
6.13.4, but when you select it, you're offered 6.13.6.

Looks like Garmin's Web site is broken for the automatic update, but
a manual download might work.

The easier(?) workaround until Garmin cleans up its act is to put your
e-mail addy in the box to the right of the download button and ask to be
notified of updates to that program. It USED to work pretty well with
the map updates, we shall see...

The automatic update has *never* worked for me in all the years it's been
there. I always go to the garmin website, downlaod the file to my local
hard drive, and install from there. Takes about a minute and always works.
I have never tried to "run" the file from the website, but I imagine that
would work without saving it to your hard drive.

Same here.. I always check for updates from the software and when an update
is available download it manually.
