I have a 76csx which has been updated to CNNA 2010.2
I upgraded it via a download.
I now want to include CN Mexico.
I do not want a preloaded microSD card.
If I purchase the download version, will I be able to use MapSource to
include Mexico in a mapset of both CNNA 2010.2 and Mexico which I can upload
to my unit as a single .img file?
My card has the required space (2GB)

Thanks

The quick answer is yes, as long as you have sufficient card space and don't
exceed the 2025 map segment limit (which I think is still in place - I may
be wrong about that.)

http://www.tvnav.com would be my source for confirmation.
Phone: 785-625-3546

I have more than one mapset associated with MapSource.
I select which map segments I want downloaded into my GPSMap60cs.
I don't see why that would be different for your NA and Mexico, verses my
NA, Tides, Australia, Japan, and California Topo.

The mapsets can only be combined in Mapsource and the sent your 76csx
as a single .img file where it will overwrite any file which is currently in
the unit.

If your upgrade to CNNA 2010.2 is not currently Mapsource you will not be
able to do it.
Be sure to get CN Mexico as a file you can intall in Mapsouce and combine
with your other mapsets.
Incidently this wil probably be a better and more complete mapset for Mexico
than CN Mexico

Hope that answers your question

OR SO I THOUGHT!!!
After some positive indications from this NG but especially fro Garmin
itself:

Dear Richard Harison,

Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I will gladly help with this
issue. Please click on link to view the formats for the Mexico map,
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=253&pID=11427#productTab . The DVD
and download formats should allow you to use the map data with Mapsource.

If you are in need of further assistance please feel free to reply to this
message.

Bottom line...after a 6 hour download (dialup--all we can get in the sticks)
It wiped CNNA 2010.2 off my card and DID NOT COMMUNICATE WITH MAPSOURCE AT
ALL.

Additionally, the driving force is that I am going to Oaxaca, Mexico to
consult on a theatre lighting project for a very important resort in
Huatulco.

That resort is NOT in the CN Mexico POI library!!!

Oh, that I had listened to Harold Muller (above in this thread) ...
Oh yeah... their map cost twice as much, but MapSource ate their sample up!
SEAMLESS.

Any ideas? Or should I just threaten to sue?

Hi Harold.
I sure should have listened to you!
The bicimapas was twice as much $$$ BUT
It had an executable which married it seamlessly to MapSource
(I downloaded their 1MB trial map)
