I own a C & C yacht which I purchased in 1979. The yacht was outfitted with
marine instruments that include a wind direction metre. The instruments were
manufactured by two companies that I believe are no longer in business. These
companies were Atlantic Marine, mostly based in the U.S., and Mariner
Electronics in the U.K. The instruments are not functioning properly and I
have as yet found no-one with info on these companies or the ability to
effect the repairs. Is there anyone out there who can help?

Many thanks
Wilf Pilsworth

Check with a marine surveyor in your area, preferably one who has previous
experience with your 1979 C&C. A good marine surveyor will have knowledge
about equipment, manufacturers, and local mechanics that can probably make the
repairs or replacements.

Also, if you have access to AOL, check out their sailing message boards.
Click on KEYWORD "Sail" then "Sailing Message Boards" then "Sailing
Messages" then "Owner Groups A-Z" then C&C. Use the "Find Since" feature to
exhibit messages for up to 999 days. You will see messages and e-mail
addresses from others with an interest in C&C yachts.

Good luck.

Wilf,
I am afraid Mariner went out of business many years ago.
