We recently (5 wks ago) had a baby who screams 2/3 times his diaper is
changed. The thought of changing him inside our Coleman popup during the
night with the resulting noise being shared w/neighbors-is not too
appealing. Bought the trailer 2 yrs ago in expectation of having an
infant....just didn't think about the noise. Thus we will be purchasing a
hardsided trailer and will need a place to store it. The popup fit nicely
in the garage.
If I'd known this was going to happen I would've bought the F250 w/V10. Now
I get to sit in the (F150 Supercrew) slow lane once we purch the hardsided.
Sighhhh.
Thanks in advance.

Can't help you with the storage options (although I am nearby in San
Diego) but I can say that you shouldn't let the first 5 weeks of being a
new parent be the decision to ditch the pop-up.
Hang in there, and just be patient and responsible about your camping
and your pop-up should be more than fine. I see people out there with 2
month olds sleeping in their tent with them.
My oldest was 18 months before we started out again, just becuase of her
age - just life. She was never any trouble, the boy was 8 months on his
first trip - and the only issue was that he wakes up at 5am....everyday.
So I sat with him in the dark camper and played quietly in the mornings
until 7 or so when the sun cam eout and we could start breakfast.
.... on the othe hand, if you are using the family addition as an excuse
for the hardsided, I can't help ya.

When we lived in Rancho Santa Margarita, we stored our 40' Class A at a lot at
the intersection of Sand Canyon and the Baranca Parkway. I think the name of
the place was "Irvine RV Storage." At any rate, it was one of the three places
I found in the local yellow pages. It was gated, with keypad coded access from
6 AM to 10 PM daily. It was lit at night, I believe, and there was somebody in
the office business hours who occasionally made rounds on a golf cart. There
was no overhead protection, but then again, there wasn't much snow either! In
the two years we kept our RV there, we never had any trouble or heard of
anybody having trouble. Not that we necessarily would have heard. I think we
paid a little over $100/month, but that was a couple of years ago and my memory
is a little fuzzy.
Hope this helps! Good luck with your search.

As to holding onto the popup...Well I guess the baby is a good excuse to
ditch the 1 hour setup/take down/worry if it might rain/no gray water
tank/no black water tank/heater popping on/off through the night because of
the thin tenting--popup.
The setup hassle kind of removes any thought of going away just for a couple
of days. Just getting older I suppose.

Glen Eden has a large storage lot in view of the office. I've never seen the
lot full. Glen Eden is gated. Members have 24 hour access. There are
employees all over the place during office hours and a patrol when the office
is closed.
I don't know if they'd store an RV for a non-member, but it may be worth a try.
